Why is my M8 engaging at 4700 rpm?

09 m8,speedwerx y,pipe, and can. Clutching; speedwerx blue spring(160/310)
70-80 gram CPC adjustable weights, and stock secondary. I ride 0-3000 and 6-9000. My weights are set at 77.5 grams right now for low altitude and my engagment is 4700rpm. Take more weight out and the engagment goes up. Called speedwerx and they said they get 4100 to 4200 engagment with their SPECIAL 71.5 gram weights. Mine engaged at 5095 rpm at 71.3 grams. WHAT THE HELL!!! Anyone using the speedwerx blue primary spring? If so, what are your resluts?

It's your primary spring. You need something with a softer initial rate if you want lower engagement.

I figured a lower intial spring rate would help. How the hell can SW say they get 4100 to 4200 rpm engagment with 71.5 gram weights with that spring rate. Just pisses me off that I wasted $50 on something that won't work for me when that is what they told me to get with their pipe setup!!! So maybe a 155/300ish spring would get the engagment around 4000 rpm?

Thanks for the HELP!!!:beer;

Go with a lighter initial spring. SLP Black Yellow 120-310. I had a spring last year that I think was way stronger then they sy it was could never get rpm down until tried another spring.

This depends on where the weight is loaded on the weights, and the curvature of the weight. There is a ton of variables that all have to work together.

where is the adjustable weight loaded in your adjustables..??...you can affect engagement easily on how they are loaded

I have 1.34 grams loaded in the toe. I think I'm going to throw my cat 73gr weights in tommarrow and see what the results are. Anyone have any suggestions on spring rates to get. Cause if I order one I might as well get a couple of different rates to play with so I don't have to pay for shipping 3x over.

I'm gonna try running the SLP 140/300 in my M8. If you have your stock spring I'd throw that back in and start there. You can likely get away with just adjusting your weight without buying anymore primary springs. That's what I'm gonna do if I don't like the engagement on this 140/300.:beer;
