Why go to a 16" wide track?

Okay what are the advantages of going to the 16" wide track over a 15" is it worth the trouble to put one in?

The same as going longer....floation and traction.
Given the choice I would always go 16....but whether it's worth switching tracks JUST for the additional width is debatable....but if your doing a track anyway then 16 is the way to go IMO.

More foot print equals less trenching and higher marks on the hill. I believe going to a 16 wide track is not a big job in a zx. I think all you have to do is grind the head on the chaincase bolt that is inside your tunnel. I truly believe that an upgraded track is one of the best mods that you can do to your sled.

Heck, I put the powder max 151x16x2 on my old F chassis summit fairly easy as well! I did have to take a little off the chaincase bolts, grind a few rivets down and that's about it. I went from the 2001 summit 151x2 track to this and that was the probably the single best improvement I made to that thing.

X2 what BJ said, gotta get rid of the inside tunnel support brackets, just get the external braces off one of the MXZX models like I did, or a set of BetterBoards or other.
Longer drop brackets help move some of that wider track out of the tunnel and give you more track to tunnel clearance. If you drop the skid to far out, 5-5.5", you'll have to drop the front arm mount down to get your weight transfer back, and will gain some AOA. But, you'll see alot better flotation and traction.
