Why does every hate on polaris?

I read threads from yamaha, skidoo, and cat forums and i can't figure out why in everyone it turns into a polaris bash party! Seriously almost everyone turns into a bunch of worthless information because they get way off content and it turns into a pissing match.

Who gives a **** lets ride!!!

It's mainly the Doo guys hating on Polaris. It's a love/ hate thing. They secretly love the Pro, but they hate it when their XP gets spanked by one.

ENVY is why! The Pro was the best mountain sled out there and the 2013 will be that much better compared to the competition. Some folks will be totally brand loyal regardless if there favorite manufacturer is giving them the best product or not. The Doo, Cat and Yamaha offerings just don't match up.

Regardless of what you ride, you should to some degree want the "other" guy to have a better sled. That is was pushes the industry to make better, lighter, faster, better performing sleds. I am not brand loyal at all. Have owned all the big four and have done so because I buy what's the best at the time. Yes, dealer support is a BIG factor. But if that's equal among brands I'll buy what is the best for "me". Yes, that is subjective of course. But by doing research on Snowest and looking at all the forums I come to my own conclusions. It doesn't matter if someone doesn't like what I ride, they didn't pay for it, I did. If someone feels better about their purchase by bashing mine, so be it. Yes, I currently ride a Pro and that's because in my research I found that to be the best mountain sled on the market "right now". Being in the top spot changes constantly. New technologies come out all the time and drive competition. We the snowmobiling community are the winners. Actually I think we're pretty lucky. Not all motorsports change as rapidly as the snowmobile industry. Who know's, when all the 2013's are released I could be on something different next year. But it really comes down to are "you" happy with your purchase? What's the old saying about trying to impress people you really don't like anyway. In other words don't worry about other opinions, they don't matter. And yes, the Pro is the best. LOL!

You know how some people hate on someone because they're the best at something and make it look easy... like Shawn White and snowboarding or Tucker Hibert and snocross... its kinda like that.

every time I read one of those bashfests I laugh :face-icon-small-coo

besides its a compliment when other forums are comparing all their new stuff to the Pro. It means its the standard :face-icon-small-win

The haters can say what ever they want. I was on the mountain this past weekend, and my riding buddy and I came to a sort of gathering area by some fun stuff to play in. There was about 15 sleds in total. There was a higher percentage of Polaris sleds (mainly PRO's) than any other brand, by quite a bit!.
What's on the snow is what tells the story!

I agree and think alot of doo guys are not happy they have fallen behind and won't admit it.

When doo came out with the rev summit (04 I think) it was not the market leader, poo still was, by 06 doo had taken the lead, alot of guys think they switched over to do before they became the market leader and are some kind of doo insider. Doo was the market leader and had the best technology until 2011.

Now that poo has come back swinging and has seemingly overtaken doo as the leader in this segment, doo guys are pissed that the "new xm" isn't more radical.

Not all guys are brand loyal but some of the doo lovers, early adopters just can't beleive their beloved doo is now in 2nd place.

When you're playing king of the hill, you go after the guy on top.

When somebody else gets a promotion you think you deserve, you hate on them.

It is a little odd how there are a few highly bitter folks in other sections, but we don't seem to have a "Captain Poopy Pants" over here. Do we? Am I missing someone?

Oh wait, if you can't spot the negative nancy in the online forum, it's you. FML.

Now, an aside... So I did jump on the bandwagon for 2012. I had an 09 Doo. I spent my time on Dootalk. I don't know what it was like in here in the Poo section while Doo was holding the market share. Maybe the Doo section is the new Poo section, and we're the ones who are elated that our brand is selling better, and the sleds are doing what we want.

Everyone of us must remember that it doesn't matter what brand you ride, when it reaches the top sales spot in it's segment, there will be a HUGE bullseye painted on the hood. Back in '04, it was the Rev, now it's the Pro that the other guys are gunning for. In the end, it all benefits the consumer.

The major reason I think this is happening now is because all the unbiased riders who wanted the best sled the last 2 years hopped to polaris leaving only the people who are brand loyal at cat, and doo so they all sit in their section all day and seethe about how their sleds aren't "the best". Yammi riders like HP and point and shoot ability so obviously they wouldn't like polaris compared to the other 2 because the poo doesn't have the power of the other 2.

I just hate it because I go to either cat or doo and ask about their sled and assume I'm hating because I got polaris in my name so out comes the ignorance and red rep!

I only hate on them because of the IQ 800 motor fiasco which continues to this day. Also the crappy dealers who could care less about the guy who purchased the sled. The new sleds are great but the dealers are still the same. Just my 2 cents.

There are crappy dealers connected to every brand.

Because if you owned one of their sleds from 2005-2010 you had every right to :p

With that said, I'm buying a new Pro next month.

Hell it only took them 6 years to figure out how to build a real mountain sled, but when they did, they sure hit a home run hahahaha

Great last sentence, Larry. Gotta remember them words.

there are three reasons people hate on polaris:

1. Probably the most brand loyal group in the industry. Good for Polaris, annoying to everyone else :)
2. The Pro is the top dog right now, as noted above - that puts a bulls eye on your back.
3. And i think this is the biggest reason, and is somewhat related to #1, Polaris in the last decade has put out some of ****tiest product (mostly motor issues) and the die-hard Poo fan has continued to be blinded by this mfg's failures. That i think makes a lot of sleddars that aren't die hard fans of any brand, but lovers of this sport, easily annoyed by the Poo faithful.

All that being said, i think no other brand has listened to what mountain riders want in the last few years better than Poo. I've never considered buying a Poo, but because of their "about-face" i'm likely 90% sure i'm going to buy my first Poo for 2013 (that's after buying six other sleds from different brands in the last 9 years).

why is there a thread about the new skidoo in the polaris section? Its filled with love from what little I read.
