I live in Alaska. My sled lets me see me places I couldn't otherwise get to.

I ride for the rush and for the beauty of being outside during winter.

its all for the fun and the beauty of the sport. i love the mountains and i love winter so why not put them both together. theres no other thing in the world makes me excited to drive 13 hours except for the powder

I live for the challenge of conquering nature at its best and worst, nothing better than sledding when it is -20 degrees, it sure isn't crowded. Then there is the freedom of tearing across a meadow at 80 mph or threading through the trees at 5 mph and last but most important spending time with my wife, my son and friends and watching them enjoy nature in its purest and most beautiful form.

never found anything more enjoyable, and nothing gets the adrenaline going like sledding. Ridden dirtbikes, dunebuggies and 4 wheelers forever. Not even in the same league. Now there just something to get me from one sledding season to the next

I sled because its the one place I can go where no one can find me.:beer;
Because when I am there,
I am not here.
There is no past, no future
no job, no school.
Its all about right now
and I am going somewhere special!:D
Maybe that way? Down there?:eek: Or over there.....
Somewhere with my closest friends
And they are always smiling!:)
Aaah the smiles....good times,
I snowmobile because it makes me feel so alive!:D
and it seems to bring out the best in people.:heart:
well, most people...:face-icon-small-win.:cool:

For me it's one of those things that once you get it in your blood it's just not leaving. My dad had me on sleds at the age of 2-3 yrs old. I absolutely loved it! Nothing means more to me then sledding with my dad. He hardly ever rides anymore and seems to enjoy 4 wheelers more now with age, but its that time with my dad that got me hooked. I hope to someday share the same experience with my future kids when that day arrives in my life. Nothing gets me more excited then sledding :D

Wow, I have read some great replies in here guys, so much more depth than I was going for.:eek::D:beer;:cool:

For me, its similar to the story most of you are describing, to get out there where few people get to go, see things most people will only see on TV, to look out from 8,000 ft and be able to see a mountain or a city 200 miles away. I ride to have fun and to escape from the worries of everyday life, to enjoy the beauty of it all and to remind myself about just how lucky I am to be a part of it all.

As some of you have touched on, there will always be better riders and bigger hills, but to have fun, share a few laughs with friends, and take in all the fresh mountain air is what its really all about in my eyes...

Keep the replies coming, this is far better than I could have expected:beer;

I sled because
1 i am addicted to the speed, power, sound and smell.
2 i dont have an F 16 that I could fly
3 i dont have a Formula 1 racecar that I could drive
4 i love the going to the most beautiful places in the world in the winter
5 i love doing all this with friends

I do it for the thrill, makes me feel free and Alive. If someone told me to work that hard at work I'd tell them to go fu(k themself. hahahaha

It is the most fun you can have with your clothes on! I absolutely love the feeling of carving in a couple feet of powder or pushing the limits on a climb.

ha i ride for fun. I mean, its fun to watch your mentors diggin themselves out halfway up the run you just made right?
