just got back from the local overpaid underworked fire fighter station to inquire about filling up my float air canister... I am so.sorry you lazy ****s had to get off your azz to answer the door.

then was told AFTER a bunch of questions on how the air is filled that they are not compatible from department to department.....wtf.

so asked...if you are at a big disaster and your air ran out so and so fire dept could not fill yer tank and vice verca.....yes according to my fire station here in Snohomish WA. lame

Why are Firefighters so effen lazy, because the water does all the work.

the truth

you prolly interrupted their circle jerk.go to a diving shop and leave the fire fighters alone

lmao

The BCA's and Snowpulse's are compressed air. The ABS's are compressed nitrogen.

OK, I thought MPS meant Comp Air. So I am assuming that the cylinders are probably very similar in size to the high pressure comp air and comp nitrogen used in paintball as well??? If this is the case, I hate to tell you this wendell, but the connection for your avi cyl and a firemans SCBA cylinder are different. SCBA's across the board do use the same valve connection with each other based on their pressure rating, CGA 346 for lower pressure cylinders up to 3000 psi, and CGA 347 for high pressure cylinders up to 6000 psi. However, those little paintball cylinders are a completely different connection.

The BCA packs are compressed oxygen.

I get mine filled at paint ball shops.

Are not all paintball guns still CO2 driven? If I were to be trapped in an avy I would want breathing air in my avy floats, not a deadly one (CO2, one breath and you are dead). While you can breathe 100% Nitrogen, as such it is still O2 deficent and you will suffer the same fate, death by suffocation.

I personally think it is completely stupid for the manufactures to provide a pack that has a non-life sustaining inflation gas! Granted the "Premise" is it will float you to the top and avoid entrapment, but what if it does not? Would you not want to be able to puncture the float and breath for "X" period of time, giving the responders a few minutes extra to locate you?

I for one would never buy any brand that is not Breathing air inflated, if I were to trust the technology, and at this point I still do not.

If you think they are lazy try trading jobs with them you risk your life for strangers and work there azz off when it counts they can be as lazy as they want when there chillin

No, paintball guns can operate on CO2, Nitrogen, or Comp Air. NI and Comp Air provide consistent pressure operation, where as CO2 will fluctuate with temperatures and content level in cylinder. I don't think the avi packs were designed to be a life saving breathing apparatus, but in theory if you were buried, and if you could still move enough (I have been told by people who have been buried that you cannot move the snow sets like concrete once it stops moving) I suppose you could try to puncture your float and breath it if it was air filled, NI and CO2 would just asphyxiate you.

what kind of cheap skate

goes and bothers the local fire fighters to fill their Avy Bag. there are web pages that tell u exactly where to get your avy bag filled. your the lazy azz. when i fight fire I average 11-12 hours a day 12 on, 2 off. which averages to 72 hours every 7 day work week

I don't agree with the way Wendell called firefighters lazy asses.

However I don't agree with you telling him he bothered them. They are public servants. The public is their employer. Anyone from the public has the right to talk to a public servant.

What harm would it have done to fill it up? The firefighter could have said sure but keep it hush we don't want every kid coming here with a paint ball gun asking to refill their canister.

Are you F-N serious I was a VOLUNTEER for 12 years and when sh!t went down we busted our azz, Mistakes and laziness in the civilian world could be fixed but in an Emergency Lives were on the line. I could go on but YOU should get my point. All our tanks were compadable with surrounding Departments and they need to work on that.

PS Go pay to have your own Damm tank filled!!

Really? You sure you don't mean EMERGENCY RESPONDERS? Sure you have the right to talk to them, but If they fill his canister and something goes wrong when he uses it, it may end up bad (lawsuit) If you can afford an Avy bag you can pay for a re-fill.

Good point, I didn't think about the liability issue. You're right. Wonder if they told Wendell that?

What does the term "emergency responders" have to do with anything?

When I was a Firefighter I guess I considered myself an "Emergency Responder" not a Public Servant because I didn't get "paid" a salary. I was a VOLUNTEER.

Ya you were an emergency responder. I don't care if you were paid or a volunteer. You still answer to the public. You're a representative of the government. The government that belongs to the people. Don't volunteer if you don't think you are accountable to the public. Again what is your point with this?

My tax dollars pay for the FD's air supply (not his but you know what I mean) that's what harm it would do. I don't want every tom dick and harry running to their local FD to refill their avy pack with air the taxpayer is paying for. Go pay somebody to fill your dang pack, don't expect it to be done for free. If you don't like how much it costs to fill it, look into the cost of the cylinder to fill it from, the gas in the cylinder, and a manifold station with high pressure rated stainless steel braided lines, you will find the cost to pay someone to fill it is cheap.
