Who's running/ran 8t 2,52 pitch drivers??

Probably been debated before, but please report if you yourself has tried this and how it worked! Might have to because of rpm vs. top sprocket...

Thanks

will be

I will be changing to 8t 2.52 drivers to put a 2" lug track on my XLT this fall. I need the smaller diameter for clearance. May have to change a little on the clutching/gearing side of things but not sure yet.

Here is a good thread that I have saved with good info in it

Hope this helps!

Well.. Thanks for sharing, apreciate it. But they were talking about 8 tooth 3" pitch drivers, not 2,52" pitch.

But thanks anyway.

What sled are you running? I put a set of anti-rachet drivers on my MM and didn't really have to change much. It has worked fine on that sled for years now.

Just figured the info for figuring circumference and
gear ratios and such might be helpful.

wrtmani: Yes, they are great. Have a couple!

tcpeterson: Running a -01 RMK with a PRICE 1029 and a 159" fingertrack.
Max power is at 9500rpm so I'm having trouble geting the gear ratios I need and keeping the 2,52 pitch 9t drivers.

Not the same application at all, but I put 8 tooth on my sons Indy 500 so I could put a 1.75" x136" track under it. It geared it down perfectly for the longer, bigger lug track. The speedo reads fast now, but that makes it better. He thinks he is going faster than he really is!!!!

i have a chart that shows ratios for 8t 2.52, in 9t equivelents. what ratio do you think you need to achieve?, i can cross reference it for you.

Apreciate it, but like mentioned I have couple of excel sheets with mph calculators. That's where I've been and put in sprockets, drivers (teeth and pitch) chaincase c-c distance, rpm and clutch ratio.

I get out gearing, mph, kmh and chain pitch.

Would like to get max 90 mph (1:1 clutch ratio) spinning 9500 rpm. And I would like my top gear to be no less than 19...

How big of bottom gear can you fit?

Not sure, run a 41 now and can squeeze 42 in there. Maybe even 43 if I trim the gasket but that is pushing it!
Just the old Gen II case with 7,05" c-c. Bought a 9" c-c case based on the same case, but like mentioned the diameter of the bottom section became a little problem now that the dyno told us to clutch for 9500...

Also, chains come in 72, 74, 76, 78 and 90 pitch!! No 80 or 82.
Easiest would be to just run 8 tooth drivers.
