My friend Lafe took a good bull 3 days before the end of archery season.

Deep Creek, West Desert. It's the unit north of the Goshute Reservation. We've (my hunting buddies and I) have taken 7 bulls off there in the last 3 years. We all had max points when we drew.

The first two are off of footage we have of the buck filmed through a Swarovski spotting scope and the third is though my Swarovski bino's.

The third pic is the first time we found the deer first and second pic are the third time we filmed him. Now I need to find him before the hunt ends here in Idaho.:beer;:D

South Cache

A good friend of mine drew a south cache elk tag and we went down there for just over a week. We thought we would be wading our way through 360 bulls and would be taking our pick on what bull to shoot. Boy, were we wrong. We ended up burning up a lot of boot leather and losing a few pounds on the hunt. We found that 99 percent of the hunters there barely left their 4 wheelers. Long story short, we ended up killing a dandy. I will post pics when we get them uploaded. We rough scored him at about 380. By the way, how is that area to sled? Looks kind of thick is some spots, but also looks like it could be decent.

A few years ago the North side used to be the unit to draw, there were a couple of 380 and 390 bulls took out of there. I haven't heard of a good bull come out of there for a couple years, hopefully someone can correct me if I'm wrong on the North side but it just seems to not be what it was. Brad Wurston who builds them big triple Polaris sleds took a 383 bull off the north side a few yrs ago.

I have heard people say that the South side where your buddy drew is the tag to have. A 380 rough score is very impressive, congrats on the hunt.

Utah bull

We kept hearing that the North side wasn't as good as well. I was amazed at the amount of people in the area on the first weekend. Pretty good results though.

Here's another bull. This was Chris' bull taken on the rifle hunt out on Deep Creek where his brother Lafe took the bull I posted last week with his bow.
