Who's going to buy Klim gear this year?

Thread Rating

Just wondering how many people plan to buy new klim gear this year. Seems like there have been some bad press on here about quality and warranty.
I for one have quite a bit of their gear for both sledding and dirt biking.
However, after seeing and hearing some of the issuses here, I am looking for alternatives.
Any suggestions? I have a CastleX jacket that seems to be holding up well.

I have found that there are 100 happy customers for every 1 complainer. I wouldn't let what you hear/read on here influence your decision.

I will expand on this, because I agree. I am perfectly happy with all of the Klim gear that I have and I have a bunch, EXCEPT their gloves.

I've got the tog bibs and powerxcross pullover and gloves. Ive got another pair of the adrenaline GTX boots coming in the mail.:beer;

I'd like a pair of their pants, but not sure if I can fork out $300 for them at the moment. The Arctiva pair I have now have seen better days.

If anybody knows where to find them cheaper(I don't care if it's old stock), let me know.

If the fact that Klim now has a department just for helping keep riding areas open doesn't encourage you to buy then show a little effort on here to helping save riding areas and they might throw a discount your way.

i, for one, have recently purchased some more klim stuff, ie., boots. have had nothing but good luck with the company. if you read through the bs, like the glove issue posted elsewhere with the pics, does the wear and tear on those strike anybody as a warranty claim? i am in no way affiliated with klim, but, take it for what its worth, my legitimate issues have been dealt with in a professional and timely fashion. to date: wet butt and knees, in mtn bibs-replaced free of charge(less shipping on my part), knack pack, broken strap- replaced free of charge, again, i had to pay to send them back. my stuff was not ripped, torn, burnt, or abused. but rather normal wear. i am a believer.

me me me!! well except for gloves. Every pair I had fell apart. they all were replaced under warranty but they still fell apart.

Already have all Klim gear but am going to get a new pair of pants, have the freestyle but got a few burns on them and they are 3 years old. Probably going to get the extreme bibs this time.

Also have two years (100+ days) on my adrenaline boots and they have a few holes, on top. The soles have held up great but the tops took a little beating from locking my feet in the footwells.

Great product that has always kept me warm and dry.

doesn't hurt that I have a Klim hookup so I don't have to pay retail :)

BS?

As the starter of the aforementioned thread, I will respond. If you read through some of my other posts on the subject you will see that I also own a pair of their Bibs, and a Valdez jacket. I also forgot to mention that I own a pair of their boots as well. All these have performed well, as they should, considering they are not cheap. But, I am a firm believer in buy cheap, get cheap. What you will also see is that other people seem to have experienced the same problem, particularly with their gloves. As for the "Burnt finger" theory, I readily admit the finger tip of the one glove does look burnt in the picture. It is not. You will also see that the stitching has failed in that part of the glove. As did the stitching on the palm where the thumb is connected, as did the stitching on the wrist tightener. If you search any of my other posts you will see that I don't bash, and I usually will give someone the benefit of the doubt. As far as BS goes, hardly. Had I not felt it was legit I wouldn't have posted it. Would I recommend other Klim gear to people? Yes. Would I recommend their gloves? No.

Only thing I won't ever buy again are the Togwotee gloves. Four pair in a row had the seam where the thumb meets the main body of the glove blow out. Could still wear em, didn't effect the waterproofness, but it was a PITA.

The rest of their gear is GTG....

man, some of you guys must be hard on gloves ;)
ive had two pair - inversion and klimate - for a couple of seasons now. no problems at all. no rips, tears, seam-splits, nothing. just dry, warm hands.

i will definately continue to buy klim gear - all of it. you can buy cheaper, but, you get what you pay for....

I have the Klimate bibs and love them. Also some of the the under layers - they work great. Time for some fleece next. Maybe an early Christmas present for myself.

I just ordered some Klim Revolt pants, and a Revolt jersey.

I've heard a lot of good things about their gear, so I'm hoping my $200 worth of their gear holds up well.

:)

Then again, I take care of my gear too. I have a pair of Azonic riding shorts from 2001 that still looks brand new. And I used to race in them (Mtn biking)

if a person would have a bad word to say about them it would be me i lost my klim dealership because i would not include a show room in my shop couldnt afford the 10000 to make 2 000 . but i have used there stuff for 8 years i was very happy reperesenting them they always warentied anything i wanted to exchanged items when they would not fit and shipped all stuff to me in a very timely matter

Agreed. All of my gear is KLIM (except helmet) and I have had no issues with any of it. Then again I only have 1 1/2 seasons on them....

Who's going to buy Klim gear this year

I've got a closet full of equipment that didn't work, Klim has never failed me so I say "buy the best and cry once" if you can't afford to do it right how can you afford to do it twice.

I made a post in the last Klim thread about my personal experiences with Klim and about some items that I was going to be sending in for warranty. Since my post in that last thread I sent in a Nak-pack, Free Ride Pants, and Mojave Pants. As mention in my last post the Free Rides were torn in the knee from my running boards (my fault) and the butt was getting wet, the Nak pack had seams pulling loose, and the Mojave pants has almost all of the seams pulling loose. Two weeks after I sent those items in I recieved all new items from them with no questions asked, this is what keeps people coming back to Klim. My problem is that its a catch 22 because out of the 8 Klim products I own (Powerxross Gloves, Balaclava, Adrenaline Boots, Free Ride Pants, Valdez Parka, Tech Vest, Nak-Pack, Mojave Pants) I have had to send back everything except the Tech Vest and Balaclava. Everything Klim product I have has been replaced except the Balaclava, Valdez Parka, and Tech Vest and I am on my third Nac-Pack. Many of you may ask if I am hard on equipment and I can't deny that I am flat out hard on sh*t but I have never had riding gear fail like Klim's gear.

I think Klim has really good customer service but I think their quality control needs some attention. If Klim could combine their customer service with a more durable product they would be a solid top notch company. As far as future purchases I will continue to buy from Klim but I will branch out a little more to try some different lables. I hope this does not come across as a bashing post cause it is not. I simply want everybody to know the facts based off my personal experiences with Klim.

Hearing that you sent in all that stuff and got it replaced is great. What pisses me off is it seems like they are really loose on replacing everything except the gloves. I had, no ****, three rides on mine and they pitched a fit about replacing them with split seams. Everything else that I have is great stuff, and really like the bibs, boota, and helmet.
