Wonder who's tried to climb Irmens arm.. Who's made the climb, I know Irmen and Gibbs and myself.. anyone else?? Who's climbed the Gash??? I know Randy, Gibbs, Laird, Stanger have climbed it... who's tried and is yet to finish the Gash??? I know Rebec has tried, has he climbed it yet??? The Mile,, who's tired and failed??? Who's got it done??? The Monster, who's climbed it.... I know 100's have tried... I know Turbo, Don Lentz was the first to get it done during filming of TS2.. I did it the next yr, on the 800 Mountain Max.. Yesterday I finally took a Cat up it..

I'm 3 and 0 in the monster, I doubt I'll try it again and let the beast get even with me....It's way more scary going down the monster than going up it.... Mike Irmen, Your insaine, I didn't realize how crazy the arm is,... until your in the gut, thinking "where's my line out????" To do it in deep snow is truely amazing,,,,By the way there's 2 really narley stumps at the top you have to miss or rip your A- arms off,,,The Mile is way easier this yr, than when McLearn first got it done..not to say it's easy at all!!

Sounds like you guys had a great day. Aside from the Monster chute, not to many have climbed out of the other 3. Irmens Arm is the only one I have not tried for some reason. If you had a Yamaha you wouldn't have to wait until spring, you could climb those chutes all winter Dan.:face-icon-small-winlol

Great job slaying the Monster on the Cat Dan! Doubt there are many out there that have climbed it 3 times with no mis-haps!!!

Randy tried The Arm last year and got right to the top in the trees and got stuck. We roped him to the top. I think he wants to try it again sometime.

Thanks Dan, but I think when it comes to insane you hold that belt with all the chutes you have riped up! Those 2 stumps used to be trees when I first climbed it, someone choped them down to make it easier. I have done gash, monster and yet to try the mile.

Nice pics from your ride in Castlegar, cant wait to see the vid.

Totaly Awesome ride on sunday! everyone made some great pulls in the good old Boulderdome!!

McLarens Mile, or Madness.... haha I think we have called it both!

When I climbed the Arm , I wanted the line to the left up by the rock, but I chickened out.. When I was committed in the Arm, you can't see the " out " until you get up there.. The sun was shinning on the stumps and trees and I wanted out. I hooked it right , too early, but made it up and out.. The left line is doable ,but if your moving to fast it would be hard to miss the rocks and the cornice.... It'll make good footage though,, in KCA 3 "Leave your sanity at home".. Stanger would have tried the arm if I did the Gash but I was done... Needed to go home without any carnage... The snow is amazing right now but the balls of snow at the bottom of the Monster, Gash and Arm are nasty....

Thats what I really like about the Boost series of videos. Tons of climbs done in deep snow. Thats really impressive!

I've tried Monster twice at last Yammafest (09). Got within 50' from the top and had to turn her around and ride back down...much worse!lol

Haven't tried the others, wanted to, just didn't work out this year.....maybe next.:face-icon-small-con

Those are some wicked climbs, it's just getting totally insane what guys are doing on these sleds. Great job to all those that have and that have tried, it's blast to watch the insane climbing!

I agree, the Yamaha's have amazing torque, and can slay any chute any time of the year, but , I'd like to beleave that one reason I haven't been hit by a big avi, is that I don't climb big stuff in the deep snow during higher avi dangers... 800 cat with the turbo is pleanty fun for me,, and I can get it unstuck ALL by myself...

There are times when you can and cant, we have stayed safe by making smart decigions. Ive never seen the lower bullpen chutes slide, the base of them is really the only avy risk. there is just certain hills you dont pull when conditions are questionable.

would love to try the monster on my cat and be the youngest to do it, if it wasnt a 24 hour drive from my house:face-icon-small-con

Never tried it never sean it. Will make the trip next season and take a look at the monster in person. Looking at pic's of it I can say anything, but until I am at the bottom looking up or at the top picking a line will I ever know if I will try it. Heck not to sure my 09 dragon 860 will pull it, time will tell! Hope to see everyone there.
