So, if the snowmobile industry goes the same direction as the motocross industry, who will be the next manufacture to run a 4-stroke in snocross, and when will it happen???

I am saying ski-doo does in 3 years.....

I suppose when it does, you will be tapping the old man to get you one!

Jsun, your post ssond like so many others in the past that have knocked the yami's for the weight but within a couple years are riding on themselves.lol
Take Sawyer for an example! hahahha:D

With Ski-Doo meeting emissions standards on their new 600 EFI you won't see it.
The weight penalty is too great for a snowcross sled. They are already too heavy to withstand the pounding they are putting them through today. One season of hard riding and the chassis is junk. Add 50 pounds to them and jump them like they are and you can line up at any national and have your choice of totalled sleds for $3K.
Polaris and Cat are just going to jump on board with the new EFI systems and Yamaha will still be packing the track wondering what happened!!!

not only that but the AMA gave a huge advantage to the 4 strokes by running up to 500cc 4s in a 250cc class.

if they do that you'd see 1200 sleds in the 600 class

then to top it off they'd have to totally reformat the track to give the advantage to the 1200's

If you all remember the Yamaha 4s wasn't doing with a chit until they redesigned the tracks giving the 4s bike even more advantage.

NOW they are (AMA) tightening up the tracks again, I bet a guy could do well on a 250cc two stroke bike again if modernized.

Lets hope it doesn't come to that!!!!!

You're so right. If the classes wern't set up to favor fourstrokes, would they be here now? Lets hope we don't see it in Snowcross, because they will have to knock down the bumps.
I'm sorry but the logic of '' when fourstokes get lighter'' is strupid, because if you use that effort on a twostoke '' they will get lighter too''.

I was trying to be nice with this one!! Almost a compliment to yamaha saying that other manufactures might follow them...

And Jeff C, in three years the "gravy train" will no longer be in existence. C'mon, you had to have heard that one year for now the trust fund runs dry at least a couple times during the trip!!!!!!:D
