Who to report false grooming reports to?

Let me start this rant by saying that I don't want to cause a huge ordeal, as I do not have 100% proof.... However, I noticed on the WA State Snopark conditions/grooming report says that the trails from Cougar snopark to Kalama Horse camp were groomed on 12/26/15. The trail was definitely NOT groomed when I went up on 12/27. Now I don't exactly recall the snow forecast for the night of 12/26, but I'm pretty sure it didn't snow enough to sink waist deep on the trail, and have signs of 4x4 wheel tracks still visible and not flattened out. There were also downed tree's in the middle of the trail, which while they could have fallen overnight, sure looked to have been down for a while. Also, the trails to Lahar and Marble mountain were really whooped out. That I am not disputing, as I am sure that many people rode on 12/26.. Now, I absolutely LOVED breaking the first tracks in the trail. But if we are paying for the groomers to groom, and they claim they do and then get paid for it, I call BULL@#!#. Especially since it seems like all the leftover funds from last year got rolled into the "general fund" instead of staying with the snowmobile budget.

Well I can tell you who's been posting updates that he's been doing the grooming down around Mt Adams for Northwest Snow Grooming (Same outfit responsible for Cougar Mountain Park).

"We apologize for any confusion on this post, we are the new groomers (Operators) working for Northwest Snow Grooming LLC for the 2015/2016 Season. If you have any questions about snow conditions or riding these areas give us a call: Travis Martinek 253.722.4123.

We will be operating a Piston Bully 240D at Orr Creek and Johnson Creek, and a Tucker 2000 at Skate Creek.

You most likely will see us on the trail carrying a Snowbike on the back of our groomer, we love to ride and will keep the trails in top notch condition once the snow flies! See ya on the mountain"

I'm involved in the grooming in our local area. First of all for the holiday State Parks asked that planned grooming be sent in before the holiday as staff inputs it on the website and they were not going to be in the office during the holiday. So it could have been planned but something happened and there is no staff in the office to put in an update. Second a grooming schedule is made up on a calendar and sent in to state parks when the grooming applications are due June 1 and sometimes those are put up and again conditions throw you off from that and again with the holiday staff wasn't there to correct it.

The groomers have a log to turn in for grooming so are not paid by what shows up on the state parks grooming reports. They try hard to have factual information but this past week areas have been absolutely bombarded by new snow as well as down trees which hinder the grooming along with a holiday.

I see on facebook where clubs are calling for help this week to help clear trails of trees to groom. Our area has trails we haven't groomed this week due to a huge amount of trees that have come down and it takes our volunteers awhile to get them cleared as well as coordinating with the groomer to get them pushed out of the way.

Maybe check in with the local clubs to see if they need help clearing trails to get the groomer back on schedule. I don't know if that was the reason but make contact with them and see. Sure groomers groom but it takes a lot of extra support sometimes to get the trails in shape for the groomer.

Lastly the money from last year did remain in the grooming budget for this year. Hope your area gets up and running and on schedule soon.

I'll make something real clear I do not groom those parks I groom Johnson and orr creek snow parks . before you through someone under the bus have your facts straight.

Now if I was you call state parks for your complaint. I got into grooming because the parks I ride didn't get the grooming they needed.

By the way I just was out on a 24hr shift grooming from Johnson creek to flattop snowpark and back because it was to deep for a tucker to track in. I do my part to help the snowmobile community.

Wasn't trying to throw you under the bus, my point was you could probably get the person the answer they were looking for.

If you re-read my post I said you were taking care of the Adams area only.

I did, however, say you were associated with NW Snow Grooming, thinking perhaps you could get them in touch.

Actually, quite the opposite...I have been singing your praises all over the place.

This is the first time in YEARS that anyone has done any updating to the webpages, including on here regarding the grooming contract under NW Snow Grooming.

I've been so frustrated by their complacency in the past that you, my friend, are a huge breath of fresh air, trust me!! :first:

Thanks I will see if I can find office number for nw snow grooming not really sure if I can give out his cell.

I believe in being open to sledders as the groomer. Only bummer is I don't get to ride the deep stuff as much as I used to.

Talked to FS they are talking about opening wakipish snowpark. I was up there xmas day\nite told them its passable by sled I'll keep it posted on orr creek updated.

Not sure if it will get groomed I believe it the same groomer in question here.

I have asked nwsg to let me groom it for years no luck

But the 25 is washed out deemed unsafe by FS

Careful for a washout at the start of the 84 I'm going to push more snow over it

I am the Mt st Helens grooming coordinator and I have heard this from a few people in the past couple days. I know the guys have been working very hard on getting the trail opened up to marble mountain that alone took most of the day Saturday lots of trees down. I was told that they did the west fork trail and the 81 down to the horse camp. The snow was so deep that all the could do was groom with the blade all the way up so it didn't make much of a difference. It's going to take more than one trip to bring the trails back into shape. By this weekend I would hope the trails should be good. If anyone wants to talk to
Washington state parks the number is 360-902-8662 Wayne or Pam would be more than helpful. If anyone would like updates on st Helens you can contact me 360- 430- 9200 thanks Kurt!
