Who rode stock last season?

Well your local clutch guru isn't worth the money your spending, as the Nytro should be clutched to run 8800-8900 if you want to be where the power is!!!!!

Hold on.....before you criticize my local guru....I have yet to run this set up. I'm confident that the clutching will be optimum for the Colorado high altitude riding as he has tested ON THE DYNO and IN THE POWDER. Maybe I needed to leave out the RPM's I'm hoping for, as I have not seen what RPM it will do. It will be in the heart of the power curve, that's all I care about. IF that means 88-8900, then so be it.....

'Til it snows.....it's all guesswork right now for me.

i have a 2006 apex stock with 3700 kms and a 2008 nytro with a 162 x 16 apex skid and track with cr drop brackets an it. i ride both sleds through the winter and have a good chance to compare. they are both good powder sleds and power isn't lacking on either. for carving deep powder, i do find the apex more predictable as holding a turn is smooth. the nytro on the other hand seems slightly harder to initiate banking the turn and then almost wants to lay over too much after that. i'm still working on that with pivot risers and rear skid shock changed to ohlins. both these sleds are super reliable and good on fuel. i think the nytro with the longer skid is even better now than with the 153 x 15 stock skid. boost won't be an option on either at least until the warranties are up as this is important to me and i am not a climbing guy for the most part and like to boondock. that said, i do go to revy and other steep areas and find these sleds perfectly fine up to this point in time.

how many miles does your nytro have? i didnt see 8900 until i put a few hundred miles on mine.

I put 730 miles on my sled last season, all 100% stock. Best I saw at the end of the season was 8300 peak, dribbling down to about 8100ish during any amount of pull in a climb. I know there's more power there, waiting to be tapped, hopefully this clutching and a new track (and a new Timbersled skid!!) unveils it.

there's defiantly more power there. if you like it when it turned 8100 you'll love it when it spins 8900!

I have a 07 apex se that i rode completely stock in 07. In 08 I put an under tunnel exhaust ,which i had to mod out the sides of the tunnel to make it work right, a boss seat, full set of vents and taller riser on a pivot, also took off all the back rack and put a craigger gas can on, hand guards as well.and timber sled drop brackets. This year so far i have put a timbersled mtn tamer, freedom axel w/2 8 " inside wheels, polished the tunnel and ported the track, I think i am still gonna do an aem af gage and maybe some air box mods as well maybe power commander III and ordered a set of simmons gen II skis.I loved my sled the day I got it and I love it even more now! It takes me where i need to go and I can keep up.Oh yea did I mention my cousin bought a new sled in 07 as well and he's crying he needs to rebuild his or get another, and mine is just getting warmed up!:D

2008 Nytro MTX stock last season as my first Yamasled, loved feel of sled, motor was ok added 300rpm w/Skinz silencer, found suspension & track pathetic (broke rear suspension twice). Considered buying an Assault for 2009, but for about the same net investment, I went the following route instead.

This year I have added full Ohins RTX package with 2100NM Apex springs in rear and XTX front end, Ice Age Rails and Power Claw 153" . Will probably install PowerCommander components once season starts and tune w/ LM2. Since I have a MX background and ride rough terrain pretty hard, I went for the "beef it" as opposed to the "lighten it" approach as the balance of the Nytro makes it feel lighter than it is, it feels lighter than my 490lb mod 900RMK. If this chassis set-up holds up this year, I will "lighten it" next summer with boost. If it does not, I should be able to put sled back to stock to sell and sell the suspension components and recoup most of my $$ invested in the upgrades.

I rode my NYTRO MTX stock last year for 2200 miles last year!
After the season, there was 3 major things that I needed to change before this upcoming season :

1 - Get rid of at least 50 pounds!
2 - Get a better track and a better suspension
3 - Work on the clutching and gearing

Point 1 and 2 were covered with a Timbersled skid, 162 PowerClaw track
and Yosh RS-5 Under tunnel exhaust!

Point 3 was started with a 19 top gear and I'm waiting for snow to test different option for the clutching!

yamaha nytro mpi stage 2 clutching?

i am wondering if any one knows if the blue pink blue spring and the 14m rollers work good and the stock weights but just weighted up. what kind of secondary clutching should be used ?? thanks :D
