Who Pays

when our group heads for a sledding trip the truck is full when it leaves, tally all fuel while we are gone(keep reciepts and a notebook for mileage) and the first thing we do when we get back to town is FILL THE DANG TRUCK! then figure total fuel divided by total # of people. NYTROMAN i think u should head straight to the fuel pump as soon as you return home, before anyone is let out of the truck and then tally the fuel. and if they complain give them your payment coupon and say ok ill pay for fuel you pay the friggin bills......bet they wont hesitate to pay then.

nytroman needs to lay the law on his group, and if they dont like it, have them buy a truck and trailer themselves. that is just complete greed and bs on the other guys part.

no matter who drives the truck starts full, and ends full in the drivers driveway. that is how it is. if they dont understand that, make it empty when you start and empty when you get home. that is only fair.

we split the fuel, and help with the cleaning of the rig after the trip. trailer and truck maintainence is on the owner of the truck/trailer but, we swap that out for other trades to make things equal for everyone.

we dont keep total score (except gas and lodging) but we always try to out do each other for who pays for what. the driver usually is given, dinner, drinks, food or gifts to make up for the extra time, effort and wear and tear on his rig. its the right thing to do and only fair to give more to the driver.

there are two types of people in the world... givers and takers. it doesnt take long to see what line people are in. if you hang with a bunch of givers, life is usually easy and less drama. if you have takers, you coach them one time, if they complain, time for them to ride with someone else. we have pushed people out of our group for this reason. and i dont lose a nights sleep over it. ski

This is an on going problem... always take my truck and trailer (nobody else has a trailer). The truck maybe full of fuel before we leave depending on when I had to fuel up for the week so filling up before heading out may mean 5 to 10 gallons at best. 2 of the guys will fill my truck and my sled. The 3rd buddy is usually looking at the ground or headed for the restroom at this point. We all take care of our own meals, drinks and fuel during the day. Once back to the house everyone is quick to get in the truck and leave. Most times all the sleds sit in my shop, my tools are used for repairs. This makes things simple during the season but the extra 3 sleds also take up a lot of room in my shop during the year that I could use. Hate to be a prick but how do you tell them it gets old being the one responsible for everyone's stuff along with the expense of keeping up with maint on truck and trailer along with insurance and tags on trailer. Feel like I built a shop to store everyones stuff and worry about everyones gear being taken care of and it only cost them a few bucks in fuel during the season. Sorry so long, just pisses me off to feel used and not know what to do about it since they are my friends...

This is the best way we have found. First roughly figure out how much the trip is going to cost, fuel and rooms. Then divide it equal and everybody puts their money in a pot. As far as food and gas for sleds your on your own. Then when you get back if there is any money in the pot just split it up equal.

It only takes one douche bag to f*@k it up. You will find these people quickly and dont envite them back.
