The company the brings the goods into the country pays the tariff. It is up to that company whether, and how much to pass on to the buyer of that product.Just to be clear on how a tariff works. Skidoo has no control of it. Sure they can lock in the price but if the American government puts a tariff on snowmobiles American buyers will pay 25% (or what ever the tariff is) more to the American government. That will be added to your locked in price at the point of sale. The whole idea behind the tariff is that you buy products manufactured in your own country or countries that you have trade agreements with.
The buyer in the international sales transaction is usually responsible for paying tariffs. Tariffs are a tax on imported goods, typically paid by the person or company that imported them (formally known as the “importer of record”). Many importers pass these costs down to consumers by charging higher prices.
I hope it all works out for you.Are you trying to talk yourself out of spring ordering?
No tariff has to be passed on. That is optional. Doo is going to honor their spring order prices. See post #31 above.
For us all!!!I hope it all works out for you.
When the US imposes tariffs on imports, businesses in the United States directly pay import taxes to the US government on their purchases from abroad. The company the brings the goods into the country pays the tariff. This is true, but wouldn't Doo/BRP be the importer anyway? Not sure how it works for dealers, but I couldn't imagine small-town dealers wanting to mess with import regulations, tariffs, etc. When the US imposes tariffs on imports, businesses in the United States directly pay import taxes to the US government on their purchases from abroad.
The importer who brings the product into the country – be it a car or a snowmobile – is responsible for the tariff at the port of entry.
I ordered one as well hoping for the playfulness! I ride with skis in the air and love the idea of lightweight (vs. expert) at the same time!Im also considering ordering a Summit X 154”. Reason is that with coilover its said to be most playful sled. Hoping to get a chance to ride one this spring.
Its a rough ride, and the flex edge and the tmotion make it playful.Im also considering ordering a Summit X 154”. Reason is that with coilover its said to be most playful sled. Hoping to get a chance to ride one this spring.

me either, I got to ride a 2026 154X-NA for a hour at least and I was waiting for the T motion to piss me off but that day in that snow it didnt bother me. I ordered a 165X and if need be will lock out the T motion like the old days....but I wouldnt let that hamper your snowcheck decision!Never liked t-motion. That's the only reason I still have not pulled the trigger. Not sure if its still too unpredictable.

WHY DOESN'T BRP just offer a LOCKOUT OPTION...????
It seems like such a SIMPLE SOLUTION...
