Who is your go to dealer?

Your local dealer. Driving 13 hours to save $500 is about the dumbest thing people do. ? Support your local shop so you have someone close by that is willing to help you out when you need parts and/or your sled needs to be worked on.

I have no local dealer and I bounce between MT, ND and MN frequently. I would rather drive than be stuck with a dealer who can't do squat or doesn't keep parts stocked.

Local. Wherever that is.

If I'm home it's my hometown dealer. If I'm in Bozeman it's Gallatin rec, etc.

Order local unless they have a **** reputation. The service after the sale is what you're buying.

I agree with the local to a point but ...
I have a dealer a few minutes from my house and their shop is all about the sale. Their service dept isn't even sure what a snowmobile is most of the time. When a new sled comes in they just bolt the handlebars on and shove it out the door. There is a dealer who is an hour and a half away from my front door - the owner is a former world champion RMSHA racer and he hires and trains some of the best snowmobile mechanics around. When my '22 came in they had already tested their own preferred clutching and re-clutched my high elevation clutching to match what they thought was the best combo on the snow. When my fuel pump went out I had a new one in 24 hours, when I got the stop ride notice I got a call that day asking me to bring my sled in.

Sure, I could buy a sled a few hundred bucks cheaper from my 'local' dealer but service after the sale more than makes up for the few hundred you might save upfront. Find a dealer with a stellar service reputation that is as close to you as you can get and go with that one. My two cents -

Ironically I try my hardest not to use Gallatin Rec because of their terrible service. In the 12ish years they've been in business i have never had a great experience with them. 6 weeks out for any service/repair in the middle of winter is truly terrible, and they won't even touch sleds during most of the off season. I bought my current sled there (used) and they even tried to sell it out from under me, during the maybe 18-hour period between putting down a deposit and coming back with the rest of the cash.

Then there's the sign on their door complaining about people being lazy and not wanting to work but when they advertise job openings they're only offering $14-$16 an hour. Taco Time across the street pays more than that.

I've bought a few parts and some gear there when I'm riding there. No issues but I wasn't waiting on them.

You know they can pay less because every kid wants to work there. Who wants to work at Taco Time?

It totally depends on if you're a flatlander or mountain rider. If you're a mtn rider, go to where the RMK was invented, tested and perfected. Bucky's Outdoors in Pinedale, WY. There's a reason why Polaris spends so much time at their shop.

Haha fantastic thread. Had a terrible experience buying two sleds at Gallatin. Basically, not prepped at all, 1 tbsp of oil, probably 1 cup of lame gas, loose belts, loose tracks -- and engines were flooded. Got them home after driving 10 hours RT to get them and neither one ever even started. You'd think $30K cash they'd lift a finger.

Brought them to Bucky's to fix. I did get Gallatin to foot the bill. Needless to say, experience was a huge PITA and would not recommend them.

Whi do you guys like in Mt for poo?
I've stopped at a handful of dealers driving regularly throughout Montana for business. I had the best vibes at Russell Motorsports! In December, I had the crap brand new super $$ Poo cover for the Matryx, installed properly, TEAR TO SHREDS on my deck after driving for four hours. The old canvas cover was on my other sled next to it, years old, no issues (old covers dont fit the Matryx). I called the dealer I bought the cover and sled at. They sounded like it'd be easier to move a mountain than get a replacement cover -- super annoyed. I stopped at Russell's, the service team was super kind and understanding. They looked at it and immediately swapped with a brand new one from the back, and I got on my way. So appreciative of them.

I'd absolutely snow check from them.

Lewiston honda. Friends of mine. More into atvs and sidexsides but small town atmosphere. Have even brought my stuff down a 100 miles and left a bill hanging on sled.
Kurt's polaris in seeley is my other favorite.
Polaris west was always awesome with brad lupis and jared sessions. No idea anymore. Gallatin rec and Yellowstone polaris and polaris west all owned by same person.

I use a old pro rmk canvas cover on my boost. It fits fine, and there built alot better. Polaris showes in the parts book it don't fit, because they want to sell you a new one.

Lewistown Honda has a surprising number of parts considering they generally only sell 10 sleds a year. They don't even have 1 in the showroom this year. Only had 1 last year. Jeff is a damn nice guy too.

Oh I tried the canvas of course.... Yes built way better. My old canvas one 100% didn't fit the Matryx slash 155 tail. What length tail is your boost?

I also have had terrible experiences dealing with Gallatin Recreation and would not recommend spending any money there if possible. I really tried to support them since they are my local dealer, but after buying two new sleds there and consistently having to deal with rude and incompetent service over the span of a couple years, I have been using Redline Sports in Butte instead whenever possible. The sales team at Redline has been great to deal with, and Thomas in the service department has gone out of his way to help me out ASAP. Night and day difference from the service at Gallatin Recreation.
