who is responsible for the economic crash

its actualy the Dems cuz they have had house majority for the last five or so years ...anyways ..then they blame the republicans for all their fawk ups ..go finger

That is a good synopsis, the only thing thing I would think to emphasize is that the energy crisis and gas prices are what really precipitated the crash at this time. No drilling, no new refineries, bow to the environmentalists and buy it all from the ragheads overseas. And there stands Obama saying, air up your tires. That will solve the problem. He is pretty friendly with the Muslims over there too.

well it took them a while to do this to us. I think 15mins to explain it is allowed. youll notice that the republicans use facts and evidence, the dems just deny it....

That sounds like how the debates have gone.

I remember years ago when Clinton made an announcement that his goal was wanting everone to have a home.....didn't see that one coming.

Freak, I agree that there is plenty of blame to go around. However, I actually believe that the blame goes much, MUCH farther than all the talking heads are stopping at. I think there is blame for everybody who filled out a credit app for something they couldn't afford. There is a measure of blame for everyone (myself included) when I pulled out the visa and bowed down the the immediate gratification of getting what I wanted even though I didn't have the money for it in the first place. We all (or lots of us anyway) got way too comfortable with the concept of living on credit.

The fact that we had morons who encouraged this makes it all the worse, but in reality many people did it to themselves. I know that nobody held a gun to my head and made me buy my house. Now, I didn't buy what the bank told me I could either. I bought what I knew I could afford, regardless of what I "qualified" for.

I think that is the biggest thing missing in America today; Personal accountability. We don't have it in Washington, at city hall and too often in our own homes.

Oh yeah, and somebody go slug that Lehman dude in the head again!

X2 This is a great point anchor. Way to many of us Americans got used to the idea of living on credit instead of saving and paying cash for it. We are reaping what we sowed in the late 90s and the early part of this decade. Everyone wanted the house, truck and toys that the other guy had only thing we forgot was he worked 20 years saving and being smart with his cash to get it. Lots of things to blame the economy on. Oil, housing taking a dump, people living beyond their means. Just seems that they all came together in the "perfect storm" figuratively speaking.

The housing markets and the loans were only the catalyst that set this whole thing off........ It was only the first domino... there should have been no others. Look at what the banks that are doing fine have to say about this whole deal.... It wasn't all the mortgages that did this (though they played a part) it was shady accounting and loose capital backing of loans that did the economy in.

he will save us!!!!! just ask him
