Who here has a potato gun?

I just went outside and looked over the neighbors fence after hearing 3 LOUD bangs to see them shooting potatoes probably 1,000 ft straight up It sounded like world war 3 was fixing to kick off on Christmas Eve

Anyone else ever do this?


It's quite clear all 3 of them were pretty wasted

not currently. Built plenty in the past. Best we ever did resulted in 400+ yard launches, but it hurt to shoot too.

ive built a few spray n prays, a few powered by compressed air, and one with a propane tank and steel that resulted in a talk with the fuzz....

Ran out of ammo one day and the boss's xmas package was still the work fridge. Started shooting sausage till the lady cop came in and asked " who was shooting there sausage all over the street" drunk and not able to hide the laughter we were busted. <------true story pics were posted here on sw a few years back

I have one, think 1/4" steel, propane, and an ignition coil... the only problem I am having with it is that potatoes dont work, they vaporize... Golfballs go way farther then you care to think about.

I shot a potato through double layer 5/8" drywall at about 100ft.. and it snapped the drywall sheets in half along with the hole. I also found a way to wad up around the golfballs to get stronger shots, thats fun!

i had a potato gun on a nitrous/ether mix...didnt last very long but made one helluva bang. still not sure what happened to the potato.... and almost took out the guy sittin behind me.... next version will be built outta stronger material for sure
