who has had trouble with bully dog down loaders

well after taking into dealer they changed my program on truck so my power pup dont work tryed to update but cant figure out how to do it cause it says no internet connection or must return to stock.. but now when i plug it into the ob2 port nothing comes up on the programmer what to do if this has ever happened to you? :beer;

did you return the truck to stock before taking it to the dealer?

when taking to the dealer, you are supposed to return the truck to stock and then update the programer from their site before reloading.

I am having nothing but heartache with mine. I have bad tranny shifts in the upper 2 selections (Tri-Dog) and the Outlook monitor is constantly re-setting itself and all the different values. I am tired of fuggin with this thing. I update every 2 weeks or so. What is a good programmer for an 07 6.0 Ford?

BTW, all of my problems were after I down loaded the "Crazy Larry" program. Don't do it........I have been back to stock, updated, and re-installed a dozen or more times and it is still CHIT...........Called Bullydog and the tech suggested that I select the 6.0 option during start up. I politely said "Ya Think?". EW

Willing to trade it for a brick....OBO

buddies had nothing but heart ache with his too, crappy.my superchip has been good in my 04 duramax

You did yourself in when you did the internet flash, crazy Larry got you! I remember with my old dodge, I stacked chips with a BD on a edge, bad idea. Lights and sirens went off, truck ran like chit, nuff said.

I do have a question, anyone who has done an internet flash with BD, did it make any difference in power or mileage?

I was told that the internet updates from the bd website were done to keep up with ford updates. he told me when you take the truck to the dealers they sometimes reflash it, and their updates are made to keep up with ford updates. have had the tri-dog on my 6.0 for a little over 20k miles now without any problems. only done an internet update once. if you are having shifting problems, have you done the transmition relearn it talks about in the back of the instruction manual??

06 cheby crew. Not a problem here. 30k without a glitch.
Tri Dog w/ Outlook. Did a 5.9 0-60 the other day. Luv it.
You MUST re-learn the tranny when switching programs. Just switching to extreme from performance will produce SLOWER times UNTILL the tranny re learns itself. Its like the tranny dosent know what to doo. ALWAYS suck out your program before taking it to a dealer.

Ya, I have done the re-learn several times. I am in a small community born & raised. Everytime I pull over, 3 people stop to see if I need help. Gotta love a small town.

Good replies, thanks. EW

SCT with innovative or DJ tunes.

I second that. SCT is the best 6.0 tuner bar none (got 2 Edge products so I can say that). I got DJs, Economy-Looney. My latest greatest is my tow w/ Jake Brake. Absolutely awesome wintertime tune.

unfortunatly Bully dog programmers are notorious for causing clutch, auto trans, injector and fuel pump failure a fair bit more than other reputable performance companies. BUT...with that said it is NOT just the fault of the BD programmer, alot of guys buy a diesel, buy a programmer and slap it in, smoke the crap out of everyone in town and think they have the most bad *** truck lol, not understanding how all that power is really made, managed or controlled. The smartest thing that can be done before any programmer is installed is to be sure that you have the gauges to monitor everything...fuel pressure, egt, boost, trans if its an auto ect. Living in Alberta and seeing how many guys with money waste it on trying to get that big power and smoke with out knowing what is going on under that hood makes you shake your head. Not saying that this was the cause of the said problems, but just an observation over the last few years lol. Any time you have to go to the dealer for ANY kind of work, engine related or not, always always reprogram to stock. Most perforance companies can reset the programmer once for a small fee, after that your on your own to try and get it done or have to buy a new one. Im not bashing Bully dog here, but have had personal negative experiences with them in perticular. I am running the smarty now and love it!.

taking a truck into the dealer with an aftermarket flash is a brilliant idea.lol. have you called bully dog?i figured bully dog would label there programs as something so high in the number range, that the dealers wouldn't be able to update it?
