Who enjoys spring riding?

We went out Saturday and Sunday north of Steamboat and had hero snow everywhere. We found untracked most of both days and could go anywhere. We did a lot of tree bashing and had a great time. I like powder as much as anyone but this t-shirt warm, not getting stuck (much) was nice for a break. I think I must be getting old or something. Does anyone else like the spring riding ALMOST as much as the deep powder?:beer;

one word

yes!
there are places you just cant get in the powder, i just have to keep telling myself that when i go up i still have to come back down.......thats when the heart starts beating double time.
the wife likes spring riding way better than any other time, she can get every where

riding is riding i like all riding better then work any day and beet's siting at home looking at the TV thers alot to see in the spring

Spring riding in AK is a whole different experience...there's an extra 6-8 hours of daylight and it's warm enough to hold still without freezing to death, although I don't like it as much as dry pow it is nice to spend a whole day on the mountain relaxing and enjoying the scenery.

Nope, hard snow sucks!!! give me 18- 48 inches of fresh light fluffy dry powder every 4 days and I will be happy. :cool:

Spring riding rocks!!!!

Nothing like the skeeters bitin' ya, driving up the logging roads, and feeling the heat of the sun, exploring the areas to it's fullest, going to 8 pm, and having a brew after.
The camp fires in the evenings are awesome too.

Yes I can leave the 8 at home and bomb around on the 80 pony ;) Great time to go places I cant normally get to. Dino

Spring is the best time to go exploring can go any where with out getting stuck very much. It is my second favorite time to ride.

You kidding me???? sledding in a t-shirt cause its a hot bluesky day,,,,, getting back to the truck at 8 or so and it's still light,,,,,, no body else out there cause everyone else is in summer mode so you have everywhere to yourself,,,,,, can go anywhere on the snow,,,,,, that sucks!!! :)

Hell yeah! Don't get me wrong, I'll take fluffy pow over hard pack given the choice, but spring riding usually doesn't give you that option.

Can do things and go places you never could before, don't get stuck as much, and riding in a tshirt and sunglasses rocks!!

There are some individuals, such as myself, who prefer spring riding over powder. I live for spring. I can sit here on March 2 and know the best is yet to come. Springtime is fast, no rocks to hit, narrow chutes to pull, go places you can't go during the powder season. Most the guys I know and ride with give it up in the spring, I'm just getting wound up!!!:):):D:D:beer;:beer;

It's going to be an awsome March! My 16 year old (last one left at home) and I will ride the next 2 weekends then on March 19th he will wrestle in the Rocky Mt. nationals in Denver, on the 23 we are going to Laredo to pig hunt 3 days, then Galveston to fish for 3 days, then back home to ride before I make him go back to school.

Another of my favorite days is to ride 50 miles in the morning then play 18 holes of golf after lunch and only driving 16 miles round trip to do it.:D

i love spring riding! ive gone into places in june with my 340 that i cant get get to with my 600 in the middle of winter! spring riding rocks! sleevless shirt, shorts and klim boots!:D:beer;:beer;
