Whistler Riding Partner

I had plans to head up to Whistler with a couple riding buddies but they have backed out on me. Since I haven't ridden the Whistler area yet I was really hoping I could hook up with some locals who might be riding this weekend. Anyone willing to let an out of towner tag along? I ride an 07 Summit 800 with decent ability and basic avy gear. I hate to have to give up and try again next year.

Thanks

I've never been but would love to go. Finding people to ride with in BC seems difficult compared to the US...

My only concern is theft. It seems like anything not bolted down and 50% of stuff that IS bolted down goes missing out there.

Ya I haven't been able to round up much interest so far. Guess they are all out riding and don't have time to be on the forums...... I have a bunch of contacts down here but they all have plans to go around here so no luck recruiting.

Theft happens here but doesn't seem to be as common down here for two reasons I think. One we are off the beaten path where we park our rigs so if you are up there without your own equipment you immediately looks suspicious so you can't just cruise by and snag gear and secondly a large percentage of riders are packing heat down here. I am sure it deters a small number of dirty, rotten, sticky handed types. Its more of a problem further east in cabin country where equipment gets parked and left unattended for days or weeks at a time.

If I where you I would show up at the chevon at Squamish and talk to some guys there I'm sure they would be happy to have you come along
