whips

hi i got a 09 arctic cat m8 and i wanna learn how to whip/turnout on small drifts,i think it is a sick looking move,how can i do this and what kind of conditions do i need

i guess what im asking is for the teqnique-i cant spell,there is only 5 foot high drifts here,im tempted to try it but i wanna know like how if you catch my drift

I am loading a little clip of my friend whiping his sno pro on YouTube right now, buy a couple DVD's and watch what they do as they approach the jump or cornice.

In the video he just hits it a little left and trys to follow through. Start small and go bigger and bigger until you learn what the sled is doing. Practice hard and don't forget to take pics because you will wreck and we want to see your fail and your success to!!!! It is probably the hardest thing to do on a sled is whip it.

im thinking ima go into them a little sidways and both feet on the left running board and right before take off turn the skis pull and pinn it,the reason im so cautious is because its saskatchewan and there ant much snow but the drifts are deep,btw ill be wearing my gopro cam just for you guys,im gunna take it easy off the start though

In DangerZone 3 I think it was, Dan Adams gave a bit of a speech on how to do them.

Basically, I would say no to the 2 feet on one side. Try hit it fairly straight with a slight angle whatever way you are more comfortable doing it. Hit it hard, once that front end is up, just pull straight back and hit the balance point. Then go past it. Once you get past that point the sled will start to tip back, try not to be too straight and have it land on you. As long as you have a bit of an angle it should sorta hit the balance point then tip back and to the side.

The best advice i've had on whips is the sled is gonna go where you look your body will natrually compensate dont' just try to throw it its a flow

How about throttle? Am I dumb to assume you want to be hard on it once the sled comes around?

you'r gonna need to get the track speed up right before you land because if you don't once you hit you may catch and roll it... just watch some whips on youtube and you will see right before touch down they blip the throttle a few times to keep the track speed up

RIDEREVY i wish we had the snow regina has,battleford it riddable on the lake but the feilds are ****,over in kindersley where i live we got 6-7 inches with lots of drifts,hopfully bring the sled back this weekend,seen lots of whips on youtube,im not going as big as those guys just small ones

I was tryn that on my dirtbike and was throwing it out a little nothing too cool. One thing I kinda noticed was I was putting presure on the bottom side foot before taking off and not as much on the other side peg. It was way wierd, My buddy was trying to teach me but I dont I am cordinated enough to be doing that stuff let alone on my new sled but I think if the snow is right I mess around with the head thing and see what the sled does in the air. GOOD LUCK!:beer;
