Which Skis?

And yet another vote for Powder Pro's but I have never tried Powder Hounds either.
I run them on a Rev and everyone told me they were a horrible ski to run on a REV. Just something about the way a REV's weight distribution is set up or something.??
I kept mine when I sold my last sled because they were brand new. I put them on the REV and I LOVE 'EM !
They do grab hard in this Washington cement we call snow so it takes a little more effort when you're boondocking slow but they carve well in the deep, sidehill awesome and float very well. But again...I have never tried Powder Hounds to compare. I did own the SLT's though and I thought they were a great all around ski. PP's are similar but wider and more aggresive.

I truely believe ski choice can depend on sled chassis. I asked the same question a few years ago. I went with the powder pro's on an edge chassis and HATED them. Even after many suspension adjustments they just didn't work. The sled was harder to lay over. And it felt like I was constantly fighting with the sled to get it to do what I wanted.
I've run Mod's on 2 diff sleds and have always been impressed.

Sounds like you've already made up your mind!! :beer;

haha not quite. Im still thinkin bout powderhounds. I hear lots of the M series people are runnin them and hate the Powder Pros. Of course i posted this thread on another site and im getting 3/4 of the people saying powder hounds. And since i just heard that it will take a long time to get the skis from xtreme. Im considering these,

Hey M7,
I have rode with simmons on my sleds for 9 years or so and I switched last year to slydog powder hounds and my sled did not sidehill very well with them. It has a spot were you have to try and balance and the simmons were not like that, I rode my friends sled with the powder pro's last season and they sidehill nice, better than the simmons, the sled just seemed to roll over nicely, it felt the same from start to all the way over. I like to side hill alot and I was dissapointed with the slydogs, but they were great on the trail and very flexable and do not dart at all.

what sled you ride?

i to am looking for new ski's not sure what direction to go.. all i do know is the stock AC ski's on my Msled are terrible!! they barely turn..anyone else have that same issue?

Put on a set of powder pros on m7, it immediately improved the the sidehilling ability. Could only compare to stock though.

Powder Pro's here. Put them on my 07 M8 and love them. Girlfriend also couldn't believe the difference when she rode it compared to the stock ski's. Haven't tried the hounds, so can't compare them. Also ordered the PP's for my 09':D

Anybody have durability issues with the MOD skis. I've seen the hoops crack and break just above the ski. are the people running them replacing the ski hoops alot, can they take a lot of abuse?

just an FYI it will take you forever to get your parts from xtreme.

Andrew, That is not fair!! I'm pretty sure I told you about BOSS's foam machine going down for almost 3 weeks... We have no control over that. or how fast they produce them

Yes, you did order in July which in any other situation would have been more than enough time.

They have promised to be caught up and have all seat that where due by 10/31 delivered by 11/31...

I'm sorry for the delay but bad mouthing us over something that we have no control over is just no fair

especially when we have been if contact with you and have tried to keep you informed

I had them on my last 2 sleds, and never had a problem with them. Another ski I'm really impressed with is the USI Tripple threat. No darting, and they turn awesome in the powder.

Thanks for posting the link. We do sell both Slydog and Powder Pros and discounted prices. Also offer price matching in most cases.

7 years and NEVER a problem except the rock I hit.
I've hit stumps, rolled from the top to the bottom ,never seen a crack or ever heard of anyone else ever having any. Ride with lots of peeps in Revy, Golden, Sicamous who have them and only thing is worn carbides or worn skis from riding dirt or gravel on trails in early fall or late spring.
Every part of the ski is replaceable. I hit a rock dead on and bent the metal frame, installed a new frame, used heat gun on the skin reinstalled it, and it looks perfect.
