Just looking for some input / advice with regard to skis and the Pro.

Recently put an X3 track on and now leaning towards maybe upgrading skis. One problem, there are too many to choose from!!! ha ha.

Any input or thoughts on the following skis???

SLP Mohawk
C&A Pro BX
Curve Industries

Other option is just to say screw it and run the stock grippers.

SLP Mohawks work well. However, they are more aggressive and they do not work as well in crusty snow and heavy spring snow unless you modify them similar to what has been done for years on the Powder Pro. I have a set with the modification and they are much better than the Grippers in all conditions which is saying something. The Gripper is the best OEM ski by far. If you take them off and want to sell them, you will have no problem attracting buyers who are putting them on Arctic Cats to replace their POS OEM skis. I have a 162" x3 track on my 13 Pro with the modified Mohawks. I love the track and the skis.

On my 14 both ski stops on top of the grippers were split at least 50% of the way through before 400 miles, width set to narrow. Serious jarting potential. Poo replaced under warranty, they know this is an issue. It's inherent in the gripper ski design if you run them wide or narrow and run them hard, run them in deep, heavy snow. Lots of other peeps here with the same issue. Check your stops if you're running grippers, USI or doo stops can be made to work better.

Can you elaborate on this? Are these just those rubber inserts that sit between the spindle and ski?

Yes that is what he is talking about, A common issue. The doo rubbers seem to fix all but the most extreme cases.

I`ve seen problem with grippers - due to weird design of ski stops, ski(s) can go vertical easely. Do you know the fix for that? Any aftermarket solution?

doo rev ski rubbers....unbelievable difference, do that and keep the grippers

my c&a pro bx showed up late last season for my assault so I got to try them in spring snow and powder with a fair bit of trail thrown in. Using 6'' carbide I found them better in all conditions then the grippers with 6" carbide, not blow your mind better but pleased with the purchase...I was afraid they were going to be to aggressive like the pros on my shortie xrs but not the case and no fatigue after a good day of riding and digging.

In case anyone is having problems finding these we do have aftermarket ski gromets (rubbers) avaialble for all brands.

Here is the link the Ski-doo REV/XP ones: http://www.gobigparts.com/SKI-RUBBER-BUMPER-62-08031.html

You have to use the search site window and or catalog link on the top of the page to find them though. Or just contact me.
