Which ski stance do you prefer? 35.7 inches or 37.4 inches

I have tried both and the narrower stance seems to be better for carving turns in the powder while the wider stance handles on trail better. I will be going back to the narrow stance permanently.

Wider stance allows it to lay over farther before hitting the plastic....in theory anyway. Have only ridden mine in the wide stance, which is pretty dang narrow.

I myself prefer wider stance for overall better control. Somebody else posted that the wider stance should help reduce side-hill wash-out. The theory makes sense.

SKI STANCE

I went wider and then put my SLP powder pro skis on,what difference. I like it better on trail and powder, you can completely control where you want go. I thought the stock skis where pretty good and I had my doubts about the powder pro skis, I already had them so I thought I would try them, glad I did. I also sucked up limiter one hole, front end stays down a little better.

I wanted to try the wide stance. The XM rolls over with a thought so I figured the wide stance would still be easy but as brew said allow a steeper side hill before panel out. I also wanted to try the Powder Pros I got for my Cat on the XM. In deep snow the stock skis dont' have much flotation at all. Seems to be the belly panel is the only thing keeping the sled out of China. I might even try a wider a-arm set up.

Yeah, what only about .75" effective difference left/right. I'm going to change my stance to the wider setting as I'm hoping it will help reduce the unnerving 'tippy' feeling when riding slow through the tight trees/deep powder. I'm still new but I feel like the front shocks set at '3' or somewhere right around there is a pretty good setting. My rear is bottoming out w/ the rear spring at 4 and everything else stock. May need to change to the heavier springs and just run the adjuster at a lower setting.

Not sure how to explain it, but I'm still at 1 on front springs and rear spring, and haven't touched the middle spring. I don't think I experience bottoming out, maybe I just ride too easy. 180lbs.

I found the best position for me is centered on the ski.You can achieve this with Tom's bushing kit.

this may be a dumb question for sure......but how do you change your settings on the springs/and which setting is for what?

So Far, I like to be more narrow. When the snow is real deep, I wouldn't mind swapping them out wide, but then again the snow is deep why would I waste the time! My 12 is Set wide for my GF not to tip over on the trail, after 400 miles on the XM the 12 XP is more work to ride.
