Which oil is the best?

I use Klotz oil in my M7. My friend keeps telling me I'm wasting my money. He says Super Tech oil is the same thing, and that you wont notice a difference in oils. I have also been told to not run Super Tech unless you absolutely have to.
My brother ran some Super Tech in his 2000 Yamaha MM 700 and it smokes terribly.

I want some input on this. I think there is a huge difference, since Klotz is synthetic and Super Tech is not.

personally at the boat shop i work at, every certified 2 and 4 stroke mechanic said klotz is better than super tech. they said you will be rebuilding your sled cause its not good unless you have to use it.

I was wondering when a oil thread was going to pop up. Must be that time of the year.
I'll at lease put in my .02.
Save your money. I have been running Klotz, Blue Marble and Amsoil and the guys who know there stuff run the cheap stuff....kinda tells you something doesn't it??
I'm going with Castrol 2T, I'm cheap but not that cheap.

Ya the other thread even had a vote for you oil. But anyway REDLINE for me. But have never herd of anybody have a failer due to oil brand, there has always been something else that caused the failer.

Just my two penny's agian

to me its not worth the extra money. they are both TC-W3 approved and i am going to take the advice from three people with over 40 years combined expierence. They have never had an engine fail because of the oil. it is always something else. to rich or something. As far as the smoking goes you can adjust the oil on the mountain max and since 1999 that is what that sled has had run through it. never once did that engine get burnt down. so if i was him i would stick with the super tech and save yourself 25 dollars a gallon on it. just my opinion. and like i said i am going to go with the advice that i have been told from three people to know the mountain max better than i will ever know it and i am not going to say that super tech is bad because from their view points it has never failed them.

I noticed Lucas has a semi-syn, low ash oil out for a decent price. If you ride a Doo it REQUIRES low-ash. These expensive full-syn oils out there are not low-ash

I think it's kind of like asking "what is the best condom"? As long as you use the stuff, and don't mind doing a little preventative maintenance.
