Which M1000 to buy?

Well, it's about time to retire the ole 03 900 1M and about time I got onto some newer technology. I've been reading about the differences on the 08 vs 09....about all I can see is differences in the rear suspension and a few other minor items...what's this adjustable height steering column that I was hearing about?

Anyone know of any dealers in there area with some old stock laying around priced to sell? Maybe someone has a 1 year old sled they'd like to sell?

Any input greatly appreciated.

i would pay the little extra for the 09, rear skid is different, electronic reverse, adjustable handlebars, rear tunnel tapered, powerclaw track, i think thats it but these differences are a big difference in the 2 sleds imo.

I see more differences than I was aware of.....what do you think of that track? I'm kinda partial to the camoplast tracks.....

Also noticed that you have pretty much exactly the sled I'm looking for and close too.....you look quite firm on yer price tho......

A few items to consider.

2009 has electronic reverse. No diamond drive failure.
2009 has tapered tunnel.
2009 has adjustable bars in Sno Pro version
2009 has PowerClaw track.

Most guys buying the 2008 will put a diamond lite drive and a Powerclaw track on it to improve it. These two items are around $1800.00.

Then if you taper the tunnel up you are looking at another 200 or 300.00.

* Just a note....2008 diamond drives are lasting about 1200 miles at our shop. Most of my customers are adding the engine reverse and the diamond lite drive.

How expensive is the reverse kit?

The diamond lite drive and drive shaft are about $800.00. We do the install and the engine reverse conversion for $175.00.

Buy the 09. I have a 08 and I have put $1000's of dollar in it to make a 09 out of it.!

Yeah, I bought my '08 (used) before all the '09 details were released. To do it over again, I'd have waited for the '09.
My '08 has about 900mi on it without a glitch, and it has some mods (pipe, head, bd box, etc). By the other post, I only have about 300mi left on the DD:mad:. Hopefully that's not the case. I'd never spend the money turning it into an 09, enough people out there to sell it to that don't know the difference, IMO.
I'd give $1500 more for an identical miles/condition/track length 09 over an 08.
