Which helmet of these 3?

Please don't take my last posting as "snell helmets are not safe". Just not as effective as they probably could be. Many helmet manufacturers are incooperating what is referred to as a "crush zone". Bell and Klim both use this technology. Some companies are using different densisty multilayer eps liners as well to try to make them safer. I know overseas they are using some different types of inner liners. We seem to be stuck with the age old styrofoam cup material (EPS).
When you hit your head, force is not only being transferred from your head outward, but also from the outside in. The EPS liner compresses and becomes very solid very quickly. If you have every felt a spent liner, it is hard like a brick! Some companies cheat this with the crush zones I was mentioning earlier. Different air pockets and chambers allow force to not only dissipate inward/outward, but also allows the liner to expand sideways. Dispersing energy away from your melon.
As to your fitment questions. I have always considered the Klim helmet to have a narrow fit. A little to specialized to fit everyone perfectly. Although I really like it. Bell on the otherhand has more of an intermediate fit. I find it very comfortable and will fit most heads. Not sure what the older model Bell's were like, but I know they revamped the fitment on the Moto 8 last year and continue to improve on this.
Hope some of this helps.

You'd narrow your choices a lot if you only considered the new ratings. My biggest point is that in order to have snell ratings they have to have actually been tested, DOT not so much. Find a high end lid that fits you well. If its uncomfortable don't buy it. If you can't see out of it, don't buy it. If the chinbar is close to your jaw and you wad it up face first you'll have a brocken jaw. If your forehead hangs out and you eat it face first and the helmet rotates downward on your head exposing more of your head that ain't gonna be pretty either. The new THOR lid is nice too, I have a freestyle mx rider friend who wears one, if he trusts it it must be ok in my opinion.

how about the 661 that team2 has for sale. looks like a nice helmet. i will be looking for new one also.

does anyone know much about the TLD helmets?

i was looking at a TLD and a fox but the fox was no where near fitting well.

I like that bell on the first page.

Clown!!!

That's my helmet... dont tell ppl about it.... by the way it is a very hot lid, needs way more ventilation

I have a Bell Moto 8 and love it! My ONLY complaint is the vents are kinda thin plastic and do crack, minor, can't hardly see them, and I guess the front vents flow a little too much for cold, but earplugs blocked them off easily! VERY COMFORTABLE!

The TOBE lid shares the same outer shell as the Troy lee helmet. The TOBE lid is much lighter at 2.75 pounds and is ECE approved.

That's what I like to hear! Sounds like an awsome helmet. And it's nice to see you took a chance to go ECE when it's just starting to be recognized in the states. :face-icon-small-win

why would anybody listen to a person who has just got his first open sno x type helmet? why would anybody listen to him anyway?

check out motosport.com.

I just bought a Fox V3 for $175 with free 2nd day air. Regular price is $375.

At 2.9lbs and RC and Bubba are rocking them, I know they are worth it!.
