Go ith a Garmin 76CSx. You can buy individual memory chips to insert with maps inserted for your area. Can download routes/waypoints from a laptop to the chip. Plot your waypoints on oogle Earth. Easy to use.

Go with Garmin. Good customer service, they stand behind what they build.

I totally agree, I've had 3 of them, and everytime I have a problem, Garmin has been completely fair and very helpful. They have awesome customer service.

Another vote for the 530! Radio tracking system is awesome! I don't know about regular batteries, but the rechargable pack lasts for a long time! Oh, and its nearly indistructable(within reason)!

I have a 520HCx and love it, can recharge the battery, last a long time on a charge, can add micro sd cards that are preprogrammed, can use the topo maps. 530 is one step up from this.

I have a lowrance hunt-c that i use in the summer on the wheelers and i put a 12v non batterey plug on my 05 switchback 8 for going out west that works slik. I bought the map create 6 Topo software to go along with it for the US and also for Canada. Works good for me! jm2cw.

anybody ever mount one of those big screen auto type units to the dash? I'm tired of squinting....my rino 120 goes thru 9 rechargable batteries in a day so I mostly use my etrex summit for the last 5 years, but just ordered a 60csx...
