Which clutch spring to get?????

Im looking for a new clutch spring for my primary clutch on my 97 super sport 488 fan. my primary engages way low right now at around 3600-3800 rpms, it gets very annoying at times:face-icon-small-fro. im looking on denniskirk.com and i see that Erlandson Performance springs are good, my question is at the bottom of the ad it says "2 1/2 in. Load-145 lbs.
1 1/4 in. Load-280 lbs." what does this mean? i weigh about 140 without gear on if they are talking about rider weight. ill include the links to the ones i have found. also, is a primary clutch spring hard to replace? i have a p-85 comet clutch. thanks!!

i believe i have a teal spring right now but i need to double check that. thanks!!

That means it takes 145# to compress the spring to 2 1/2" and 280# to compress it to 1 1/4". So basicly if you want to raise engagement you need a larger poundage on the 2 1/2 length.:face-icon-small-win

just look for any distinguiting color marks, numbers or brand and try and research it a little, good luck though. You might try and research what that sled came with originally and go from there, that might be easier.

well i took a look tonight and i found that it was actually a red clutch spring, i thought it was teal. these were what i found on it Polaris usa 6593 5630441 04. since it says polaris on it im not sure if it is a comet p 80 or not. thought it was but im not sure anymore. if anyone could help me that would be great
