Which backpack..?

I want something to carry shovel, probe, etc. Not worried about carrying a million other things in it. I was looking at the Fly and the Orthovox (sp?). Maybe there's something better? Thanks.

I have a Black Diamond pack that is really nice. It alsso has avalung but i dont know how useful that is.

Klim is perfect size for me. Holds shovel probe and overnight stuff great. Even without the ABS it was perfect. I just wasnt satisfied so I made my own.

Remember mine is sewn onto a flap with its own zipper. I wanted my cake and I was out to prove I could eat it too. What can I say I was hungry. ABS packs are junk but I wanted the airbag feature. They dont make a good sled sack. Mostly for a skier it seems. I sewed a zipper onto the ABS flap and then sewed a zipper onto the Klim. All I have to do is unzip the Klim and I can zip on the 15 pack.
Up until saturday I never lost a single item out of that Klim. I have rolled down the chutes, been thrown down same chutes, ejected after the safty brake mechanism failed(stationary objects) and then this saturday hit a tree at a pretty good clip. Sled was totaled but only lost my shovel handle out of the lower pocket. It was still in the upper velcro loop. I thought it held up rather well to the beating it has been thru. If ya want some more pics let me know.Rick

I use a Dakine Guide pack a little larger, but then I'm the old guy that carries all the emergency stuff for the group, plenty of room, easy access good fit.

Just got a Dakine ProII. Lots of pockets for all my junk (including seperate sections for the avy gear), big enough without being rediculous, can fit enough overnight stuff as well.

Dakine

I rock a dakine heli pro 20L its small enough, but fits everything and doesn't weigh u down... i also have a bag on the back of the sled to put extra clothes and tools etc. I thought it looked kinda dorky at first but its so nice to have hardly any weight on your back...

The osprey stratos 24 is an amazing bag. I have a dakine and it is not that comfortable. The Osprey is the best. It is more of a daypack for hiking and all. but it will hold everything you need inside.

I really like my Arctic Cat Bag made by Ogio. Carrys a shovel, probe, snowboard. But I guess if you don't ride a Cat you probobly won't wear Arctic Cat gear.:D

I'm really happy with my TAGear packs. The lightning carries everything you could want for a day ride and when you get froggy and want more room the Storm pack fills the bill great.
I can honestly say that I've never seen better made gear and the fit is spot on.
