There's some good riding north of Redding near Mt Shasta out of pilgrim creek, its about an hour and a half north of Redding. To the east about an hour is Ashpan snowmobile park, some good tree riding but probably not the big features you may be looking for.
Snow is most likely pretty set up right now from the warmer weather we received over the past couple weeks.
