Where would you pick, if you had a choice?

From Smith Fork, Bedford, Alpine in Star Valley , Indian Creek in the Snake River Basin, Bonderant, JH , Togwotte all are considered Western Wyoming and offer IMO the best backcountry riding on the planet. I don't know any place in Colorado with as much big time terrain.

Rabbit Ears is 2.5 hours from Denver, Vail Pass is approx 1hour from Denver, and to the south around 3 hour plus you have Mancos & Crested Butt. There also lots of little honey holes up and down the range.

I will take SW Colorado over anything in Wyoming. Were you riding two feet of fresh pow this weekend? I was. There is more epic riding around here than I suspect you will ever find anywhere else. It is BTW, a LOT further than 3 hours from Denver to the Sw part of the state, it is easily 5-6 hours from Denver and the front range, which is how we like it. The best riding is almost never close to town though. If you have to be a city dweller, you have to drive to ride. I have to drive too but only 15 miles to the parking lot.

Trust me, I'm not a city dweller at heart. Unfortunately for me, my job would be in a major metropolitan area... and I'm not going to commute 1.5-2hrs one way, just to live in the sticks.

Thanks for the replies all... Looks like it's gonna be Bellingham, the job in Denver didn't pan out.. Excited to rip Baker and Whistler every weekend

Great thread! I've been kicking around SLC vs Denver for the same reasons of work and snow. Don't want to live in the city but need to be within 45min(1hr tops) from an airport for work reasons. Colorado real estate seems much more expensive than Utah. From the rural towns the SLC airport is much easier to get to then DEN.:juggle:

The Boise/Mccall option looks good if I can convince them that the airport will work well enough.:eyebrows:
