Where was I riding? Help me figure it out!

4-5 years ago when I first rode out west, I went riding with a few locals in IP. I have no idea where we went, but I can remember a few landmarks.

We left from Ponds Lodge, followed a groomed trail for a good distance and then dove off the trail. I can't even recall which way the trail was going, but I could swear it was to the north.

Here we were later in the day in a burn area:

I remember at some point getting close to a neon green explosives shack up high in elevation with a plowed road (I think) leading to it. We ended up back at the Lakeside afterwards.

Does anyone know where the hell I was? LOL

Some of the riding was great and I'd like to go back there if I can find it.

You were maybe on the flanks of Sawtelle Peak.

Or, maybe you were someplace else.

You'll just have to come back down and try it again. I'll paint a big line on your map for you, take your picture, buy you a beer and show you the cabin and some secret powder stash.

That's kind of what I'm thinking. I could swear we were to the north west from the main road.

I'd like to go back there and venture around a little more. We never went anywhere dangerous because a) we were on short tracks and b) it was our first time out west

I rode the trail this year and nothing really stood out for me, but it's been a number of years since we did that ride. I remember splitting off the trail to the left (heading north) right around where there was a tight bend. We went through the trees, then the hill (where my red sled is stuck above) and moved on from there.

Got any plans towards the end of Feb? Beers are on me!
