Where to ride?

Four of us headed west on 3/13/13 and looking for some insight on where to go. Anywhere is a possibility, Snowies, Tog, IP, Horns, Colorado, Cooke. If you where gonna drive 10+ hrs where would you be heading this week?

Seeing as you are from Minnesota the best closest should be the Snowies. I rode there last weekend the base is OK..not record setting by far but decent. They were getting some good snow while we were there.

Also rode Colorado 3 weeks ago (flat tops) they had a good base as well. Like I said though no records. I dont care where you go this year nobody is getting record snow. Just watch the forecast and plan on making the best of where ever you go.

We were kinda thinking the snowies, forecast shows warm and WINDY, but can't be to picky about the weather this year. Anybody know if the bighorns got any snow the last few days?

Snow in the forecast for the Bighorns, they guy at High Country said they were talking up to a foot this week.

More in the WEST!

There's more snow at Mount Baker, Washington than anywhere in the country. 204 Inches at the Ski Area. I can vouch for at least 25 to 30 feet near the top. Been warm as of late though. Not the best conditions, but we've got the snow!

Yep, 25-39ft average snowfall in each of last 10 years. Dont go. Snow sux. Views are horrible. Mt Baker is no good. sarcastic. Not a lot of flatlanders but they are not banned.............yet!

Ended up riding The Bighorns on Thurs/Fri. Stayed at Bear Lodge and had good service. Temps in the 50s and no show for weeks made for some of the poorest riding conditions I've riden in. Saturday drove up and rode the Beartooth Pass/Top of the World area and found some decent powder in the trees, and a lot less sled traffic. Sat night parked and rode up to Cooke. Rode Sunday morning until the wind came up and started snowing harder. 2-5 in. in town, 6-8 in. on the hill with some windloading in areas. Prob. find 12-18in. in spots tomorrow, should be a good day!
