Where to ride

Taking some friends from California riding this weekend. We usually go to fairview, but I have since moved to the Ogden area. Where to take them? They are not beginners, just sledless. Want to go somewhere to plan in the trees, bookdock and do some climbing and maybe highmarking. Anyone got suggestions where to go in the Northern part of the state?

I rode Logan canyon this year a few times, liked the area. I have never rode at Monte, but looking at the topo map, did does not seem to have the hills to highmark like other areas. What is the terrain in that area like? How is the riding in the Wolf Creek area?

I honestly don't think this weekend will be the weekend to be playing any highmarking games. With this new heavy snow there will be lots of avalanche activity. Just my thoughts.

I would say Franklin or Monte areas are good bets for you. Head toward curtis creek on Monte.

Franklin head straight north and play on both sides of the road. You will need idaho permits if you go to far that direction.

You can also look at Bear River service or coalville for the Uintahs. You just have to decide how far and long you are willing to drive.

This was at Monte last week. Lots of terrain for every type of rider and less than an hour from Ogden. Just got back again today with lots of fresh powder.
