Where to mount Hotdogger on 2009 M8 Snopro

Tried to mount my hotdogger today on my 2009 M8 Snopro. Everywhere I tried to mount it, it hit the hood when I closed it. I know this thing is not complicated but I am wondering where others have decided to mount theirs. It seems like you would want it to sit upright to prevent any "leakage". Maybe it's fine to mount it on the side??? Never used one before and figured I would just strap it on and go. :( I would appreciate any advice. BTW - Stock Pipe

Chris

I just drilled holes in the muffler and riveted it to the top of the muffler, I have done that to 3 M sleds am going to do it to my 2010 M8 as well, and yes it cooks fine:D

Same here only I used screws, planted it right on top the of the can no problems cooks fine on the M7 and M8. Got tired of the screw clamp loosening up all the time figured it was time for a secured mounting position.

I never thought of mounting directly to the pipe. I will take a look at tomorrow. I agree with the tapered pipe it's hard to find a place where the clamp wouldn't work loose. Thanks guys!

search button, heres where mine is.

I tried mounting my hotdogger in the same place you have your muff pot but my hood ended up resting on it and would not close properly. Probably just the minor difference in size. :(

A questions for you guys who have mounted the hotdoggers to the muffler, were they stock mufflers or aftermarket? I have an slp exhaust and would love to mount it on the muffler but I'm unsure how it would affect performace etc. Oh also a pict of that mounting would be cool too. Thanks
