Where To Live??

I appreciate the wisdom. These life decisions have been on my mind for 3-4 years. Before I found mountain snowmobiling, leaving Michigan wasn't appealing it all. Now things have changed a bit..

On the WA subject.... I grew up near SLC, moved to AK at 20 and then to Western WA. When i was 33. Now at 45 (first 40 years if childhood is the toughest) rode sleds, dirtbikes, mountain bikes in all three areas. Have sled in all western states and BC except CO. Still have roots in UT and AK and go back often to both.

At the end of the day, big picture, all things considered ..... I would be hard pressed to leave Western WA. PM me if you want more data.

I very much appreciate the insight! I'm looking forward to talking with you more.

Does anyone else have any comments or experience living in more than one location out west to compare?

Granted I have friends in the area so that leans my theoretical move but if I went west I'd look long and hard at Spokane and the CDA area of north ID.

Good sized cities but lots of small towns and country around.

Went to Canada twice last year no issues just do not like paying 20 to use there trail every time i go up. I ride 4-5 times a week and pay 32.50 a year for trail maintenance.

That 20 bucks is why we have places to ride and why every time I turn around you guys have less places to ride.

And your main trails are in a lot better shape considering the amount of people they serve. We're experiencing a shortage of funding because we pay next to nothing for our grooming by comparison.

For comparison sake: Michigan, Wisconsin, and Minnesota combined have over 3 times the number of registered sleds from CO, MT, OR, ID, UT, WA, and WY put together and the majority of them come to the UP of Michigan to ride.

Trail passes there are $45... Land and trail closures are pretty much unheard of.

might also want to consider the oil fields, grand junction, or if interested the oil fields in alberta. wouldnt be far from the mountains in bc there at all.
