who is getting rich off these gas prices? No one seems to know or care? I own a small Excavating buisness and spent $65000 on fuel on 5 pieces of equipment last year. It was the most volume of work we have done and the least amount of profit.

i have raised my rate right along with the oil company's, if they want to produce the product and get the big dollars they can pay me to keep their iron runin; or charge a fuel surcharge, that what all freight including the railroads doing

What to do?????

If your business depends on fuel you HAVE to charge for the fuel. I don't care what you do or how your business is ran, if you don't account for fuel you WILL lose. I'll guarantee it. I spend about 7 grand a week on fuel and I pass all of the increases on to my customers. You really need to make your customers understand what the fuel prices are doing to your business which in turn will effect their business. We're in the local trucking business so we don't spend as much as most but it all adds up. If anyone needs help with a fuel surcharge chart for miles drivin let me know and I'll hook you up with the system we use. It's simple and fair.

DON'T TRY AND SUCK IT UP. Once profit is lost it can't be made up.
