where/how do i find 100ll fuel

Ive always run an AV/ 91 mix in my sled after reading this I decided to test the hypothesis myself. I picked up some sunoco 110 and will a 50/50 mix on sundays ride to see if I can tell any difference.

This is my third season on my turbo with almost no changes in tuning so if there is any difference I should think I will be able to tell.

What mix of 100LL / 91 were you running?

50% 100LL / 91 = 95 Octane, 20% 110 / 91 = 95 octane ... basically what I found was the less leaded fuel I ran, the cleaner my throttle response on the bottom end was.

it won't damage a 2 stroke at all, its just that for whatever reason the throttle response until the motor gets revved up suffers.

I believe this is primarily because of the lead in the fuel. The throttle response is a lot crisper in the lower RPM range with a mix of 50/50 .... but as far as causing physical damage to the motor, no not at all.

Ugh, you do realize most race fuel are leaded? Including Vp racing C12 and VP110 which are some of the more common fuels used in 2-strokes

Yep.

Look, I'm not the only one who has had this same experience running 100LL in a turbo application. We've had this discussion on here plenty of times :)

100LL is cost-effective for high compression or higher boost, but performance-wise it doesn't seem to me (as well as some others who came to this same conclusion) that its the best solution.

It suffers because it is higher octane and you are not getting great ignition until warm. Same reason it is hard to start at elevation and cold. It slows down the fuel burn rate.

I've used 100ll in my IQ 800 and no issues at all. Also running a high compression head. If you are not running a head or turbo I see no need to run it.

Manness was getting it at the Kremmling Airport in the past. I think he was able to pull up to the pumps and stick a credit card in and pump all you want. It think he switched to mixing race gas too, though. I run a gallon of 110 with every 5 gallons of 91 at 11# boost, for the last 3 years on the same top-end.

AV fuel not good for high rpms? Snowmobilers have been running it for years, I mean many years! Keep in mind there are adjustments needed per type of fuel being ran whether it be injected or carbureted for correct performance. I bought a 250 from a Canadian racer and he had the carb set for running Motul 25 dollars per gallon crap, without that it ran ****ty, rejetted and runs way better. These days dudes running their first 2 strokes they ever owned giving information to others based on innerweb reads, miss information on lead and valves,I hate miss information!
