Where does the Nytro fall?

Those of you who are Nytro riders or whom have spent much time on one; Where does the Nytro fall when compared to 600,700, and 800 CC 2 strokes?

I haven't had the chance to ride one, but I've owned Yammi 4-Stroke MX bikes since they were released. I'm curious by a seat-of-the-pants test what they most compare to.

Bryce

Nytro

I do not own one but got to ride one for about 1/2 hour last weekend and I would say it is comparable to a 600 or 700cc two stroke. It pulls like a 700 but the weight makes it perform like a 600cc. Make sense? Again, just my initial opinion based on limited experience.

There is so much power right off the bottom that you will find it appearingly "sluggish" from mid to top, but this is quite deceiving. It won't keep up with an 800 2 stroke in an all out drag, but there are very very few places I can't follow my buds on their semi modded Summits.

As for handling, this is hands down the best sled out there. Neutral, light (YES, I said light) and very very maneuverable. Easily the most effortless sled to boondock on and play with.

Needs: more track.....looking for a replacement myself, maybe going with a 156 or 162 Camo Extreme 2.5" paddle.

Really needs: a fix for the oil tank vent. Find yourself upside down in the back country for any length of time and unless you have spare oil with you your day might be over. *my biggest pet peeve with this magnificent sled*

Power is right on par with the 800's.

The thing about the weight is this....If I told you it was the lightest sled in the category you would believe me and absolutely love the ride, because the balance on the machine is that good. However most people ride a Nytro knowing it is heavier than most sleds and that is all they focus on. This machine rides and handles exactly like the original REV and most times even better.

I look at it this way, any REV rider who has rode my machine this year has said that they are going to go buy a new Nytro because they love it so much.

Very helpful guys.

So my next question is this; If it is slightly underpower, are there mods that can get it on par with the other sled without having to do a turbo or blower? Is it possible to get 10-20 HP more out of it with "bolt on" mods like exhaust or maybe even cams?

Bryce

There are aftermarket fuel boxes for the sled, along with an exhaust would be a good start. You could even throw some light weight suspension parts at it play with the clutching and i bet you would have a blast.

I put a Boondocker 40 hp shot of nitrous comes with fuel controller,adjustable regulator, works excellent.. cost around $1300

Last 2 sleds were 800 & 900's. I've shed about 50 lbs off of mine and have a clutch kit for Outlaw. Stock setup I'd 700ish but the way I have it now I'll run with 8's and 9's all day long. If they have the button that's a different story but whatever. I ride with 2 boosted M8's, an XP, a 900 rmk, and an 800 159" with Nos. I'm stuck less than they are.

i drag race mine, we run in snow so i just ended up running a 121 2inch paddle i can beat out the xp 600 and mod as well, i have also chased some of the rev800 with pipes i just need more clutching done then ill be running up against everything for a naturaly asperated sled with no motor mods, running her bone stock with all the wieght lol

Sounds like you got the stock nytro nailed!

The first thing you do is the steering post mod, A simple (do it youself) mod that improves the overall feel of the sled unreal!:beer;

I've only lost about 25 lbs one mine. I have a 144 Expert-X rear, 144x16x2.5 camo extreme, and Fox Floats up front, no other mods. Mine will play with 800's all day long. I ride between sea level and 4,500 ft. I think set up is key.

Put a turbo on it and dont worry about it.:D
After u do this there are very few 2 smokers that will hang:face-icon-small-con

If you have yours running CLOSE to potential NO>>>>NO 2 stroke will be close

This from coming off a 2 stroke BB viper 835(185 on the dyno) with a 45 hp shot of nos(210???) going to the nytro mcx

Yep. in a stock view.

Not everyone can afford thousands of dollars to make them compare to a larger displacement 2 stroke, so it will be in the lower HP feel/class for a while.

I came off a 1000 BB cat with nos and it is a whole new world with the Nytro. These are so fun to ride. I am still getting mine dialed in and there is no comparison even when its not running good:):beer;

wait u just said 144... Wow. Id love to see how that thing handels. I bet it is a sight. Why didnt you go 151x16 ? or 162. Nytros push so much toruqe that it wouldent be a issue would it?

I like to jump which rules out anything longer than a 144. That and shorter tracks are 10x more fun to ride.

My top speed(as in lake racing) went down alot but the track speed didn't change much, only a few mph but it still climbs way better.
