I want to remove the DET feature from my sleds CDI. how do I get that done? Is it a dealer service? its a 2003 vertical escape, it has the one wire DET sensor.

DET SENSOR DIS-CONNECT
E-Z enough, just remove the det sensor from the engine, wrap it up, wire tie it to the wire harness or somewhere else, and leave the wire plugged to it, DONE. No "engine rattle" to pick up on, and it's essentially rendered "disconnected" The DET sensor does NOT go into the water jacket, so you can leave it out.
I'm told you can make the DET sensor LESS sensitive by placing washers between it and the head, if that works for you. (I have NOT tried this) perhaps someone can chime in on this????????????
Re-programming E.C.U.'s are usually costly, Carl's does it on POLARIS sleds and if you log onto www.greenhulk.net, a JET SKI website, Sea-Doo and Yamaha forums, there's a couple of companies that do it, but once again, NOT cheap!!!

Hot seat was doing them, pro5, polaris race dept, $50 if I remember correctlly.

^^^ 02 uses a 14* degree flywheel and 03 uses a 18* degree flywheel

03 escape was the 1st and only poo to have perc and det... in 03 the 04's and newer use a different det sensor like the op stated.
Fasttrax can flash them.
