where are the 860 turbos?

So I can't remember seeing any even though they are probably out there. Why don't we see more? Is the 860 kit problematic to turbo? Think I might go this route for next season instead of dropping 13k on a new one. Which kit would be best suited to turbo? Thanks for your input!

Should work very good on a 860....probably don't see many because with turbo there is no need for more power, its pretty spunky at 15 psi. And actually unless your chute climbing 10 psi is pretty much perfect on a 800.
Plus the cost of the 860 kit...5K+ when your done, then add 4000 for turbo. And best part is with turbo ya just pull it off and back to stock to sell it

Since I already have a 08 td8 the cost of the big bore kit is pretty small compared to a new pro rmk. Would the benefit of a big bore turbo not equal the $ investment? Was thinking a 860 turbo would give you super snap on bottom and a wailing top end at say, 12-14 lbs. I did a search and found virtually nothing.

Give carl's a call, they have done a couple......my riding buddy has a dragon 860..full carls treatment probably 22K in it, can't sell it. He also has a 2012 pro with slp stage 4...since he got the pro the dragon just sits in the trailer as a spare. We ride hard and to be honest the pro is a huge step better than the dragon chassis wise, even with the 860,race gas,race twins + holz carbon fibre everything the pro stg4 does better in every case except flat drag race (that we don't do)
Do your self a huge favor, sell the dragon and get a 2013 pro and go from there....IMHO

Of course the other side is if you like your sled now the 860 would make it pretty much bullitproof for the coin

I'm just really bored since I missed a bunch of the winter. After being on my td8 for 3 years I am torn about a couple things....A. can I justify 13k on a new stock sled? B. Since I'm used to a turbo, riding a stocker is just not as fun...and yes I have spent time on the 2011 and 12 pros. They are awesome but blah blah blah I love the power. C. Is there anyone even in the market for a used turbo dragon? Seems like you can't give them away. I don't think I could afford the 2013 with a turbo so I'm looking at all options. That's close to 18k......but I'm sure I would have plenty of time to ride since I would soon be divorced. Hmmmmmm.

I did a 850 Turbo based off the 700 bottom end. Same crank shop cylinders that carls use and etc., but BMP did the porting. We rechambered the heads and been running 15-20lbs of boost with no problems. Motor has been really tuff. Had to helicoil the cylinders do to all the boost presure it pulled the threads out and lifted the head. Once that was fixed she's been a happy sled.

Std. RMK

Find a dealer that has a leftover 2012 Std RMK. = $9000
Add the shocks of your choice = $2500
Turbo = $4000?
Sell your non turbo d8 = -$4000
Sell your turbo from your d8 -$1500

= A really fun toy that'll last you a long time for 10k!!

Just my 2 cents. :face-icon-small-coo

I am in my shop now installing Boost-it motor mounts and SLP torque arm patiently waiting on the return of my RK 858 top end. I also have a Silber kit ready to go on my 12' Switchback Assault that I am going to use here in the midwest. I have an 09' SLP #4 D8 short track for trail and will use this to hopefully run near the new 4 stroke cats. I have 2 sets of clutches. Once dialed I will run a set for 2 or so lbs. pump gas and another for 13 or so lbs. 116. 14" by 1" hacksaw full of picks. Should be fun.
