so i was adjusting the regulator on my buddies 07 m8 (which is in the gas tank.) and dropped my wrench in the gas tank and while fishing around for it i pulled out a mac 7/16 wrench. it had been in there for three years when the dealer put in the adjustable regulator. TJ said he had heard a rattling when he'd pound through the bumps but could never find it..... i known dealers have left tools in sleds before i was just wondering who had stories about odd places they found things.... or odd things they have left in there. like a half eaten subway sandwich on the clutch cover.(sorry grayson)

my bud's m8 came to a sudden halt about 3 km up the trail one ride, and upon inspection we found a large screwdriver wedged in his clutch. it also said MAC on it. after we pulled it out and found no damage to speak of, we had a great ride. he took the tool to the mechanic the next week and the mechanic was wondering what happened to his favorite screwdriver. was quite happy to get it back.

a buddy and I were making a trip up to Whitehorse to visit a friend and he suggested we bring our dirt bikes. My KX 500 needed a new rear tire, and I didn't have time to swap it myself so I dropped it off at a Yamaha dealer in Hines Creek to change it. It was on the way to Whitehorse, so I just picked it up the day we left.

Got to buddy's house in Marsh Lake and unloaded it, took it for a spin down the road and it seemed the back wheel was out of balance at higher speed, thought mebbe it was the tire. Headed out into the mountains for a rip, halfway thru the day my tire went down. Put some sealant in it, pumped it up and it made it back to the truck. My buddy was friends with the bike shop owner in town and suggested we drop it there, we did and went for supper. When we went to pick it up, the mechanic laughed and asked if he could keep the spare parts, and handed me a patch roller he had found inside the rear tire. about 6" long, wooden handle with a metal wheel....still have it too....

We had a crow bar left beside the weather striping under the hood of my mom's car. It was there for months before dad had to pop the hood. We looked down and went "what's that?" Can't complain when a dealer gives you free tools.

I found a huge Snap On flathead screwdriver under the fender of a friends 71 Camaro when we stripped it down.

Shop work on a outboard of a buddy.
He took it out for a quick spin and promptly started knocking.
So he took it back and watched them take it apart.

Some dush left a adjutable wrench in a cylinder and it ate the cyl/block so bad that he had them buy him a whole new short block.

My dealer scatters pine needles all over the engine of my sled.

I have no idea how they'd get there otherwise.

Whenever I bring my sled in for repairs There is a $10 charge for shop supplies. Now I know what that's for.:)

wow you guys got be beat!

half eaten CHEWY bar I found in the back of the sled seat this fall (October)... been in there since mid March.. :) yup, thats all I got..

I had some work done on my truck.

About a week later it started to run real rough.

After a grand they pulled the intake and found a shop rag stuck on a bolt between two cylinder intakes.

Was looking in the fuel tank of my sled for water with a flashlight and spotted a foot long (not from subway) filler spout from a gascan. Really weird as I don't recall ever losing one and I had the sled from new. I had just sold it and the new owner said he hadn't lost one either. I know a guy that had his dirtbike serviced at a dealership and wondered why the side panel didn't seem to fit properly. He pulled it off and there was a wrench jammed between the air filter and the intake

found a drift wedged between my steering post and the body about 3 miles down the trail.
know i know where i left it:eek:
