Couldn't agree with you more PJ. With all the homeless in our own backyards I think we should be looking out for own first them maybe help others afterwards. I get sick and tired off all the bleeding hearts saying send money here and there but they ignore the problems we have right here at home.

I have to disagree. I think we do have people in our country (Im from Canada, but our countries arent all that different) that do genuinely need help. However, for the most part I think all of those programs are already in place to help people get back on their feet IF THEY WANT TO. The problem is these people would rather wallow in self pity and wait for a handout. I think they should take a trip down to their local childrens hospital and take a tour of the cancer ward. Maybe then they would quit feeling sorry for themselves and do something positive with their lives.

As far as helping foreign people..........personally, I am more inclined to help these people because they NEED it. They dont have any government provided resources to help them. Every country/relief program/situation is going to be different, but in the big scheme of things I think these people need our help more than our domestic homeless.

Just my humble opinion though.
