Whats with the 700's

I am getting frustrated with my 08 700 RMK. It will not pull RPMS like it should and there is getting to be several threads on this. I have done everything to get this thing revved up. New springs every year. 1500 miles on it and seems to lose rpm each time out. Leaving for togwotee thursday so I have everything all switched over. Kids wanted a ride tonight so I went out for a couple high speed runs down the river and it hit 8300 once but held 8100 consistantly. With 56 grams at sea level!!! what the hell. I am nervous how it will run in the mountains now. I usually run 66's around here. Last time out with them 7600 was the most it pull on a long run. Good reliable motor just wont pull rrr's? Suggestions. Oh ya just put 19-42 gears in also.

when was the last time you checked your exhaust valves? and the soleniod that vents the vavles? i'm running 58gms, 19-41 gearing, 190lbs(me), pulling 82-8300rpm @ 6000+ft 09' 700

Valves get cleaned 2-3 times per year. Checked them and there good. Belt is second one in 1500 miles. About 700 miles on current one, seems like a lot but the 1115 holds up forever. Thought about putting a new one on, would it help that much? Exhaust valve sensor I know very little about. How do you check it. Thanks

the soleniod is normally open, venting pressure off the bellows of the exh. valves, after the engine reaches "x" amount of rpm it closes which in turn lets pressure build opening the valves, if it gets gummed up from venting exh. it won't close all the way valves won't open. pinch the line off going to it see if it runs better.

My son's 700 was doing same thing, it would lose rpm, so he would drop a couple gram's two weeks later (150 miles) rpm dropped again so I pulled his clutch apart and found it in fairly rough shape for only 2200 miles. Installed a rebuild kit (bushing on movable sheave fell out when we pulled it apart) Rpm's are back to 8150 with 10-60's at 6500'.

Thanks for the advice. Do I pinch the line between the valves and sensor or on the other side of the sensor. Thanks again

Another question, this year when I ordered the secondary spring the new one arrived and was noticably shorter than the one I took out. By about 1.5-2 inches. I called dealer and they said the new spring was a replacement to the stock one. Would the physical length of the secondary spring be part of the problem or does the spring rate make the most difference.

between engine and solenoid, dont run around in your mid range with this set up, it might be a little lean with stock valve springs

RMKrider that spring doesn''t seem right could you try the old one? Also make sure there are no leaks on hoses between valves and solinoid. You could try plugging the hoses with a small bolt or two before the sol and test it. It sure could be the clutch also. Try 1 step at a time.
