What's with "nightriders"?

Why do so many people ride during the night? I work as a groomer, and evertime a group passes me on the trail at 2 or 3 am, it bothers me.

For those who dont know, riding on a freshly groomed trail before it has time to set up defeats the purpose and is a waste of funds.

I have a feeling these people I see riding late at night, are probably the same people who cry and complain that the trails are rough and not getting groomed correctly.

You like smooth trails? STAY OFF OF THEM UNTIL THEY SET-UP.

I had to say that, since I have heard alot of complaints ab out rough trails.

you should try our trails..very few places up here have grooming ..we ride rough trails......but I hear ya about stayin off them...

that is why they put headlights on sleds, to enable sledding at night. night riding rocks go every chance i get. and as always i use about the first 3-5 miles of trail and thats it.

Its a social thing. Better to be on the trail than in a bar. (Just hope they aint wasted). Night riding is fun. Stars, crisp air, grumpy groomers.....

Night rides are relaxing.
You don't have the throttle jockies out doing 100mph, you can go down and jump off trail and just putt around and enjoy the evening.

A night ride once in awhile is fun, but usally I'm to tired from riding hard all day that I all I want to do is sleep. I guess if you have energy to be out riding at 2am you are not riding hard enough during the day!

That’s brilliant groomers aiming at sleds, just to clue you in without sleds nobody pays for groomers, skiers will surely not.

I used to ride a lot at night as a kid. It was a blast, and when the moon was out full you didn't even really need a headlight. Haven't done it since, but sure wouldn't hesitate on a the right night. We even rode on a ski resort one New Year's Eve....there's NOTHING like going straight up a black diamond!!!

Did that in the Big Horns one spring. Ski area was shut down for the year and was able to scream right up the face. Coming down was the best. WOT all the way down. You could get some serious air. But yes, night riding is a blast. All the idiots are in the bar.

Sounds like Ollie and Anti-hero are to cool for groomers or any other rider! Its people like them that make sites like this suck for those just wanting good info and to talk about snowmobiling..

I have only been on here a few days and I'm already sick of the I'm to cool for everyone comments and guys like those two trying to start crap all the time.. Hey quit hiding behind your computer playing tough guy, and go ride! That is if you even know how.. Maybe your just all talk! Must be look how many posts you have.. Either way I'm sure you both will go off on me.. But I don't care, I'm a bigger man then you and your both not worth my time.

I just wanted to speak my 2 cents and be done!!

So where is the next storm coming in at? SNOW BABY SNOW !!

Get a clue.
You have been on here a "couple days" and yet feel you know enough to call people out.
Do your homework before you start calling people out.
If you don't like banter, go someplace else.
I have helped more riders than you will prob. ever meet.
Anti-hero has taken more noobs out for first time rides than most people will in a lifetime.
But hey, you know everything, you been on here a whopping "few days".

There is nothing wrong with nightriding. As long as you avoid getting in the way of the groomer. Long tracks shred trails. Always have and always will. That is the problem with em. Should I not ride just because of it.

I'm not sick of Snowest. I love this site.. If you would pull your head out of your azz you would have read that I was sick of you guys like you hiding behind your computers playing tough guy and starting crap with everyone.

I'm sick of guys like you on this forum.. Maybe you should take your own advice!
