In the past 1,300 miles on my 2014 assault I have blown out all of my suspension front and back..
Just did the back and now I want something beefier all around..
Any suggestions?
Thanks Fletch

My riding style is everything from booters, boondocking, and a lot of cliff dropping
I way about 200lb

A timbersled with exits or kmod with raptors would probably work well for you. An expert x would be best but are getting hard to find and wouldn't just bolt in.

What are the options for aftermarket skids? Coming off a summit going to a Pro and that's the only downside. I ride 1/2 the year on trails. Seems the front half of the skid doesn't move quite the same, tends to slam into the far side of bumps rather than absorbing them

I'm currently running a fleet of EZ-Rydes, Previously everything was equipped with M-10's. I personally like the EZ-Ryde; sucks up the bumps like the M-10's did without the weight penalty. Although most of my M-10's were fully modded skids as well; Tison Billet arms, lightened rails, wheels eliminated, limiter eliminated (slightly shortened front shock), Hollow Aluminum shafts, etc.

Never ridden a stock PRO RMK rear suspension so I have nothing to compare my current choices to. FWIW

I'm all about the kmod with raptors all the way around. Definitely my favorite and best upgrade I've done. Once you ride a premium suspension of any brand you won't look at stock shocks the same again.

Call up Raptor Shocks and get yourself a set of shock custom built for you and what you do. That's going to be your best bet.

I run stock skid with Burandt rc2's in the rear and evolr 3's on the front with an alt impact 36 kit. I think its a rocking setup, stock skid isn't bad IMO.

A suspension that works!! haha

The Pro was designed for a rider weight of 160...

If ur clicking the scales at 200.. without any gear on..

Yep.. Ur going to want a different suspension..

Id go ELKA!!

Thanks for everyone's advice

Thanks for all of the great advice.
After talking to Raptor this morning I ordered a full set of suspension...
Keeping stock skid for now..
Thanks Fletch

I bought a set of 4 brand new 2015 snowcheck take-offs from Chris at Carls Cycle for $900- revalved! Compression adjustable on the rear and two fronts, 5/8" shafts. I knew from previous experience years ago racing snocross and cross country that Jack's settings would be good- and they are!! After going the super expensive route in the past, I am stoked at how well these work.

Raptors all around is a huge improvement, do yourself a favor and pop for the whole suspension up front. You'll be money ahead..... Says the person who already been there and done that....

In my opinion stock skid works the best. coupled skids don't get up on the snow as good at low speeds as an uncoupled skid. The only way a coupled skid is beneficial is for climbing super steep stuff where up can keep your speed up, chute climbing. For the way you wanna ride I would just put some good quality shocks in the stock skid. Personally I run evol 3r and I love them, the adjustability is second to none. I even run stock skid in my turbo 155 with the skinz arc. It's the best of both worlds, not worth it on a stock sled though. And for the front I run the skinz concept a arms and fox shocks

kmod paired with raptor shocks.

It will be the first mod I do to any sled I buy in the future. Ride quality and coupling are awesome. At Kevin is outstanding to work with.

My favorite is my stock 15 TD setup, came on the sled and didn't have to spend a penny extra for it:)

KMOD with raptors is the setup I'm running Kevin beats his skids to test durability

I agree, Carls has some good options for stock shocks. Im tired of spending tons of money on aftermarket shocks just to sell my sled each year. I used to have boxes of the "latest greatest" parts sitting waiting for my new snow check sled to arrive just to drop weight, more power and better handling. For most people if your not dropping off huge cliffs or being a snow cross poser you "might" get by with some custom valving.
