When you go to your supply store, the disc's will be marked for what metal they are designed for.
Buy a large air compressor, you'll never regret it.
I used a Air sazall on my projects.
So you think Air Tools are the way to go over electric.

Any SPECIFIC suggestions ???
All kidding aside, just bring it to a shop, you'll just screw it up even if we'd tell you and show you how to do it. Look at how this forum is getting screwed up, look at how you screwed up your SAR adventure last winter!

So, the time has come to remove the boards from my Nytro in preparation to install the new tubular set I got from Skinz.
I need to cut the existing boards off leaving a 0.75 inch flange along the bottom where the new ones will rest on and be riveted to.
My question is, what is the best route to make this cut.?
Which tool would do the best job at slicing off the existing aluminum?
A Nibbler eh?
no.....i wouldn't use that. Id use a plasma cutter or a die grinder with a disc.
Hope you won't be offended by my not taking your suggestion here.
I learn by doing.
I learned ALOT from my misadventure last spring.
I will learn even more from all the mods I am doing this summer.
The Plasma Cutter is not an option for me.
Why would you choose the Grinder over the Nibbler?
I also know that its the middle of summer and this is a good opportunity to give the members of SnoWest a topic to join in on a discussion. As a side note, you should know this kind of topic has been discussed several times over, search makes it simple to get answers.
You can't cut over a pipe or through any rises in the mettle. That and it tends to give you weird edges and if your not good, you can easily mess up. Also, if you have to start and stop, it is hard to get the cut to lign up corectly.
IMO, invest in a plasma cutter, they are AWSOME! You can cut through anything with a plasma. Even kevlar, carbonfiber, aluminum, brass, steal, i think even SS. As long as you have a steady hand and a good ground, you can't go wrong.
