whats the best bang for your buck on exhaust cans for the pro????

poliguy....Your warranty is a case by case basis depending on your issue and the situation at hand.

I ran my PRO with Better Boards for 1300 miles. FLAWLESS and flat out exceptional snow clearing, traction, appearance, and added strength over stock. At about 500 miles the motor mount fell out and caused catastrophic clutch damage. Polaris warranty repair took care of the damage without question.

We fixed no less then 20 PRO's that had the stock boards fail under use. Simple cut out of the damaged areas and rivet on the Better Boards insert making the damaged sled better then new. $200 fix instead of thousands!

All that for 200 bucks and an hour shop time on the install. Here is another plus that is proven. My HMK boots just finished their second full season with over 150 total day use rides and are good for another year. I rode with multiple bone stock PRO's and watched the owners struggle to keep positive foot traction while battling the icy build up on the stock running boards. You keep kicking and scraping away at your boards constantly and you will wear out your expensive riding boots in short order.

We sold well over 400 sets of Better Boards for the PRO alone this season and I have not heard from one PRO owner who did not think they were a positive purchase for their sled. Nothing but reports of an inexpensive quality product that enhanced their PRO and the enjoyment of that sled.

Also note we never had a production back order, or supply problem. Always in stock and on the shelf ready to ship daily.

also to answer your performance question....

I found no better tested and proven performance improvement for the money spent then a Power Addiction head, a quality fine tuned clutch kit for your circumstances, and a track mod trim on the stock PRO 5.1. These things make your already outstanding PRO an entirely new animal. About $500 for the clutch and head. Ran on regular 91 with the 13.6 head from 5000-10,000 without a single hiccup. No more irritating 6200 rpm bog or waver...just instant out of the hole snap like the good old days of two stroke prior to efi. Once I got the clutching dialed in for the head and track the sled became OUTSTANDING. I highly recommend these minor improvements and so do the many many people who got the opportunity to test our demo sled.

(if you ride below 5000ft you need to get a lower compression ratio or make adjustments in your minimum fuel octane in order to have the proper spark to burn ratio and not suffer detonation)

Statement is a little extreme and the same can be said for any of the aftermarket boards, right?

Ok... the bulk head is cast. And many have had trouble bending the tunnle and breaking the running boards off ( broke one off after 3 weeks if mountain riding) I also have a broken chain case and have no idea why.

So... Lets say you jump your sled and pile it up on the landing. Then you walk ovr and find your bulk head is cracked, or your running bord is broken, or your chancase is cracked... or you have a bent tunnle.

Polaris might fix your sled for free depending on the dealer, but they always send pictures of the sled, all mods, and the damage. Now if you bend your tunnle behind the rear suspension mount like many have, do you thing polaris is goin to fix the thousands of dollars worth of repair on your sled for free if you took a hack saw to the running bords and instaled air frames? :light:

No offence to rob because he seams like a good guy who realy likes to sell his product, but even his boards could void warranty. IMO, if you are going to have the boards instaled, buy them FROM your dealer and have THEM install the bords.

Betterbords are great products as well as a few others out there, foothooker boards are top notch too. But i haven't had much of an issue with my boards (other then them breaking off).

that is my $.02. :becky:

ohh and rob, can a guy buy the clutch work you are talking about for the pro with brads head? He maid a head set for me when i was building my hillclimb sled and they worked GREAT. The heads are now on my friends 600rr/800 mod engine and it fricken rips. Makes my stock assualt look like a 600. Another thing i was pondering was carbing my assault. Have you experimented with this at all?

i felt the exact same way, although i never broke anything, right up until i installed the airframes. wow what a difference. even though they are expensive, it is one of the best, if not the best "mod" i've done to any sled. the difference really became apparent later in the season when i switched sleds with a buddy who was on a stock pro. first thing i noticed was the running boards. for what it's worth...

Scott yes it goes around one more circuit...by the end of the year it simply became IT. I absolutely love this sled. The combo of motor performance and the FOX suspension setup is flat out wonderful. It has ruined me for riding other sleds although I did get pretty happy about a turbo propane m but only going in a straight line....boy if I could get that feel with this PRO's handling and ride! THAT WOULD REALLY BE SOMETHING TO BEHOLD.

I have no idea about any clutching other then the exact setup that I am on. If you guys want to duplicate my sled I can give you the combo to buy from Carl's for every altitude from 3500 to 11,000. Pretty simple stuff as I just worked my way through EPI BB from 58 grams to 64 all on the same helix and spring combos. Flat out hauled the mail and it didn't matter what type of riding we were doing or how the snow was. Once I got the combo of weights for alt figured out this sled was impressive. Remember I have a special combo of 5.1 track mod, FOX Evol and Ti sprung rear suspension on 155, plus the Power Addiction head as a package that goes with this Carl's clutch kit. (feel real good about it...really hoping to compare that setup to the SLP stages but never got to try it...maybe next season as more guys get that setup)
