What you think my HP is on the XP????

09 800 163 track. With SLP intake, y-pipe, pipe, Super Q can, and SLP head. How much horse power over stock? I'm sure a few of you guys have the same type of set up. Thanks.

acording to the tech I talked to at slp.
slp pipe and 6-8,000 head on xp should add 7-10 peak hp and suposubly up to 20hp at some spots in the midrange.

7hp peak and up to 10 midrange with just the pipe.

I have just the Y pipe, pipe, and hps can right now. pretty good weight loss. Can't tell if it added much hp. Doesn't feel like it lost any, but it is not like it has alot more power. Sounds really good.

I have the head. Just have not instaled it yet.

What are you runing for jetting with the full exhaust and the head?

i am runing stock jetting with the exhaust. Not sure what I am going to run when I put the head on yet.

6 hp over stock. All gains from the head. Anyone with a dyno wanna bet me?

I wish I had a dyno, I'd dyno my lawnmower for fun!!!

SLP's kit last year made 172 HP as independently tested, I would think that 5-8 HP with the parts you have would be a good estimate. They had the reeds on their's as well but they wouldn't have made that big of a HP difference.

DaveB - You been back to Trail lately? Making a run at the end of the month if you need anything coming or going.

I would bet good money that it doesnt gain over ten in the mid and 5 on top. And across the board the pipe will not gain much if any except at a certain elevation and a certain rpm where the pipe can possible gain a tick. That is as long as you have done something to control the water temperature, minute amount of knock, and happen to have every star aligned correctly for the ecm to pick an ignition curve capable of building power...good luck

My dyno has always been my clutches. If you don't gain RPM or add weight to hold RPM....you gained ZIP.

Ding, ding, ding........we have a winner!!!

Its funny how many people dont get this. Even if you add a bunch of aftermarket junk and it shows you gained 30hp on the dyno.......BFD! Get up on the hill. If you have to add pin wieght......you gained horsepower. If you dont......you wasted your money.

This one time on here or dootalk, this guy was talking about how much he gained by putting some aftermarket add on onto his RT1000 (I cant remember what it was). I asked him how much pin wieght he had to add, or how many numbers he had to clicker up after putting it on to maintain the same rpm. He says..........uh, I had to go from clicker 4 to 3. haha

uh, am I reading this wrong? If you add power you should have to click down to maintain RPM no? Have I really been doing it wrong all these years? Maybe I should pull the spring outta my primary, that should help.

Spark Plugs !!

Add some NGK Iridium spark plugs ( BR9ESIR, or IX ) can't remember the name, but I believe they give you 2 more horse power.. Or so I was told by a NGK rep.. and they're only $17 bucks a peice. Cant remember how many miles they last but it was quite a bit..

Worth the money for sure !!

Anyone using them, would like some feedback on those things ??

hp

let's see, maybe 155-158 with a cold motor, have the temp go to 135 on the sled and watch it drop to about 150 and have the temp go to 165f and watch the hp drop to about 145. those aftermarket guys got it all figured out!

My bad.......mixed up the clicker up and down. Bottom line was he lost rpm. Sorry fukhed.:)

WOW. First ride today with the head. It RIPS! Worth every penny. Badass1000 I have 490's in and about your same elevation. Put it on ASAP. It will make you smile for sure.

Thank you for the update. I was going to run 490's in it, but have heard of several in our area (I am in meridian) runing stock jetting.
Did you just get your jets from slp or where did you get the jets? Do you know what kind they are? I was going to pull carbs apart to see what jets are in it and have a friends shop order them from WPS. Do you run ethanol free gas?
did you have the exhaust on for awhile and then put on the head or did you put the exhaust and head on at the same time?

thanks again
jeremy

Yeah I put the Y-pipe, pipe, and can on. It made a difference for sure. Then I put the slp intake on, rode it. It was ok. Then Jim from Hinsons called me telling me to plan on putting the head on. So I baught one from Jason at Moto One. Is that who you deal with? Hinsons put the head on and jets in, and made sure it ran right. I dont know what kind of jets they put in, but I can find out. I would Highly recommend Moto One and Hinson Power Sports. Thats who I do all my business with. Both great people and local. I'm very happy with my sled right now. Oh and as for gas, I try to run ethanol free but you never really know. Let me know what happens, Casey.

slp head, pipe, y pipe, and can make no difference at 10 k feet if anything I am losing 100-200 rpms with all of it.
Have 2 identical sleds 1 with just hps can same pin weight
I can ride both sleds in fresh tracks and turn out at the same spot.
